Audiences will be captivated by the acting of Doh Kyung-soo and Won Jin-ah in the movie Secret: Untold Melody. Several media outlets, including tvOnenews.com, had the opportunity to attend a screening of D.O EXO’s latest film at CGV Grand Indonesia, Jakarta, on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Starring D.O EXO, Won Jin-ah, and Shin Ye-eun, this fantasy romance film is set to premiere in Indonesian theaters on February 5, 2025.
This movie is a remake of the popular 2007 Taiwanese film Secret, which was directed and starred by Jay Chou. Secret became a phenomenal piece of work, leading to remakes in several countries, including South Korea.
Now, viewers will become emotionally immersed in the love story of Yoon Joon, played by Doh Kyung-soo, and Jeong-ah, played by Won Jin-ah, in Secret: Untold Melody. Set in a music school in South Korea, the audience is treated to the musical talents of the cast, particularly D.O EXO and Won Jin-ah, who are skilled pianists in the film. Both their acting and musical abilities are impressive and leave a lasting impact on the audience. “Amazing! Their acting is really good,” said Rere from Lampung, who attended the screening.
Rere also expressed her excitement about the film, which was shot in 2021. “Finally, it’s released, and I’m really happy with the result. So cool!” she said.
She encouraged EXO-Ls, especially fans of Doh Kyung-soo, to watch Secret: Untold Melody, which will be released on February 5, 2025.
Synopsis of Secret: Untold Melody
Yu-jun (Doh Kyung-soo) is a third-year student at an art university, focusing on piano. He previously studied in Germany and had performed in several concerts, but he returns to South Korea after injuring his wrist.
While recovering from his injury, he struggles to play the piano, even trembling and fainting on stage. However, after moving back to South Korea, he meets a unique girl named Jeong-ah (Won Jin-ah). Their first encounter happens in an old room at the university, where Yu-jun hears the beautiful sound of Jeong-ah playing the piano.
Falling in love at first sight, the two spend time together. Since meeting Jeong-ah, Yu-jun finds it easier to play the piano and slowly overcomes his anxiety when performing on stage.
As their bond deepens, Yu-jun starts to feel that Jeong-ah is hiding something significant from him. Meanwhile, In-hee (Shin Ye-eun), who is in the same class as Yu-jun, has feelings for him. Though Yu-jun sees In-hee only as a friend, she believes he has feelings for her as well.
One day, Jeong-ah suddenly announces that she will leave, ending their relationship. Feeling confused, Yu-jun decides to chase after his love. That’s when an unexpected secret that Jeong-ah has been hiding is revealed.
Secret: Untold Melody is an adaptation of the Taiwanese and Japanese films. While the concept is similar, this South Korean version adds its own unique touch and flavor to the story.
