Viu, in collaboration with Grab, is set to present their latest mystery-filled series. Adapted from a famous novel, Ranah Pusaka is ready to air today. Indonesian young stars such as Fahad Haydra, Vonny Felicia, Alif Reverino, and Ryuken Lie have been chosen to play four key characters in this adaptation of the best-selling novel.
“I play Badran. He’s a guy with disappointment towards his family. He leaves Cianjur to live in Arka’s boarding house. Badran has dreams and comes to Jakarta, where he meets new friends. Among these friends, Badran is the one who becomes the ‘home’ for the others,” said Alif.
“Badran’s background is similar to my own life, in terms of the feel of it, like meeting my dad. I’m from a broken home, and I got the role of Badran, which is similar,” he continued. Unlike Alif, Fahad Haydra, Vonny Felicia, and Ryuken Lie shared that the characters they portray are quite different from their everyday lives.
“I play Kalilan, or Kali for short. I’m looking for an escape from home because of problems with my ex and a friend. I can’t talk to my family and end up meeting new friends in the boarding house. Kali is a person who finds it hard to trust others, but once she gets close, she becomes very friendly,” said Vonny.
“I’m very different in real life—I’m a chill girl, easygoing, and trusting. But here, I’m more sharp-tongued, fierce, and indifferent,” she added.
Ryuken Lie also admitted that his character, Ilyas, is very different from his real-life personality. “I play Ilyas, who’s described as handsome. His character has one trait that makes him stand out. You’ll see it when you watch, and it’ll be quite a contrast.” “There’s a pretty deep difference. No resemblance. In the beginning, I struggled with the script because I didn’t relate to the character, but once I explored it more, it became easier,” he revealed.
The Ranah Pusaka series is scheduled to air today, Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Fahad Haydra shared that the series will be filled with mystery.
“Ranah Pusaka is about the four of us living in the same boarding house, and I’m the owner of the house. In this boarding house, there will be many mysterious events. A lot of drama will happen, and it’ll be really fun to watch. The four of us will work together to find the ‘Ranah Pusaka,'” he said.
Fahad also explained his role as Arka. He revealed that Arka has another reason for turning his house into a boarding house.
“He has a reason for making the house a boarding house. He’s an orphan and has been left by his parents, so he’s lonely. Eventually, he turns the house into a boarding house. Arka’s character is calm. He’s the child of an archaeologist, so he’s more serious compared to the others.” “Arka has a goal for why he gathers these people and makes the house into a boarding house. There’s a story behind all of it,” he added.
