Jakarta, April 25, 2025 — Following the massive success of his blockbuster debut, director Tommy Dewo returns with a bold and refreshing take on Indonesian horror through “Demon Slayer: Blood Legacy” (Penjagal Iblis: Dosa Turunan), a genre-bending horror-action film produced by Screenplay Films, in collaboration with Rapi Films and IFI Sinema.
The film showcases an intense showdown between Satine Zaneta and Niken Anjani, who portray two women born from demonic bloodlines—each with their own deadly mission.
A Supernatural War with Human Fate at Stake
“Demon Slayer: Blood Legacy” explores a new dimension of Indonesian horror, blending high-stakes action with a mysterious supernatural world. It drags humanity into a brutal war between demon descendants.
The film stars Satine Zaneta, Niken Anjani, two-time Citra Award winner Marthino Lio, Naomi Christy, Kiki Narendra, Gusty Pratama, Eduwart Manalu, and veteran actor Budi Ros. Produced by Wicky V. Olindo, with executive producers Sunil G. Samtani, Sunar Samtani, and Adi Sumarjono.
A Bloody Beginning
The story opens with a tragic and brutal massacre of a family during an exorcism by an ustaz (Islamic cleric)—with the ustaz as the sole survivor.
The killer? Ningrum (Satine Zaneta), a 19-year-old girl detained in a psychiatric hospital, suspected of suffering from delusions. Journalist Daru (Marthino Lio) is assigned to cover her story. During an interview, Ningrum makes a chilling claim: she is a Demon Slayer, and the murdered family were demons used by Pakunjara (Niken Anjani) to resurrect Eyang Guru, the ancient master of a devil-worshipping cult.
An inevitable clash unfolds between Ningrum and Pakunjara. Caught in the middle, Daru has no choice but to join forces with Ningrum to stop Pakunjara and her growing demonic power.
A Fresh Horror with High-Impact Action
“At Screenplay Films, we’re committed to creating innovative cinema. With ‘Demon Slayer: Blood Legacy,’ we aim to deliver a fresh horror experience that taps into the supernatural while blending it with gripping physical action,”
said Wicky V. Olindo, producer at Screenplay Films.
Inspired by Anime, Driven by Myth
Director Tommy Dewo shared that the concept was inspired by anime, particularly those that explore superhuman powers with deep consequences for the world.
“This film offers an experience never seen before in Indonesian horror—an intense duel between forces beyond human comprehension, with devastating impact on human lives. Ningrum believes she was born to stop Pakunjara, who plans to awaken Eyang Guru by harvesting the hearts of religious leaders. Meanwhile, Daru’s investigation into the serial killings unravels layer upon layer of terrifying truth,”explained Dewo.
Brutal, Atmospheric, and Mystical
“Demon Slayer: Blood Legacy” fuses mystical folklore and raw combat into one brutal, atmospheric cinematic universe.
This film goes beyond building suspense—it unleashes adrenaline.
Demons don’t just haunt—they fight.
Every death follows a pattern. Every ritual hides a purpose.
