“Sugar Daddy” Series Premieres Today on Vision+ and Viu — Avijit Dutta Calls It the Best Collaboration!

Avijit Dutta, Country Manager of Viu, expressed his excitement over the premiere of the first episode of Sugar Daddy, a collaborative series between Vision+ and Viu, which aired on Friday, May 2, 2025.

According to Dutta, the series presents a storyline that resonates with modern-day life, making him confident that it will win the hearts of Indonesian audiences.

“In my opinion, Sugar Daddy is an engaging story, and we’re proud to collaborate through the Combo Mevvah package. This is the best kind of collaboration, built on a compelling script,” said Avijit Dutta during a press conference held in Sudirman, Central Jakarta.

A similar sentiment was shared by Thaleb Wirachman Wahjudi, Head of Production at Vision+. He admitted that crafting the narrative for Sugar Daddy came with unique challenges, particularly because of the sensitive nature of the subject matter.

Vision+ and Viu, Thaleb explained, remain committed to conveying a moral message to the audience despite the controversial topic.“The biggest challenge with the Sugar Daddy series is that this phenomenon is quite widespread in society and often carries a negative connotation. But from the start, Vision+, Viu, and Unlimited as the production house committed to presenting this as entertainment with a meaningful moral takeaway,” he explained.
