After eight years, J-Hope finally returned to greet his Indonesian fans through his solo concert titled “J-Hope Tour ‘HOPE ON THE STAGE’ in JAKARTA.” The first show, held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, and promoted by iMe Indonesia, was a huge success—entertaining tens of thousands of excited ARMYs (BTS’s fanbase).
Rain Couldn’t Dampen ARMY’s Enthusiasm
Despite heavy rain in Jakarta that afternoon, the crowd’s spirit remained strong. By 7 PM local time, the venue was already filled with fans eager to see the idol perform.
J-Hope opened the concert with a powerful set of five songs from his Jack In The Box album: “What If…”, “Pandora’s Box”, “Arson”, “STOP”, and “MORE.” The crowd kept shouting J-Hope’s name between each song, expressing their overflowing excitement and support.
“How are you, Jakarta?” J-Hope greeted fans in Indonesian, followed by, “Guys, I really love this city.”
Funny Moment: A Pimple Before the Concert
During his interaction with fans, J-Hope shared a funny personal moment. He revealed that a pimple appeared on his chin the morning before the concert.
“This morning, something suddenly popped up on my chin,” he said through a translator. “I wanted to look beautiful today, so I popped it, but it got swollen instead.”
He called it a “small TMI” and reassured himself by saying, “Gwenchana (it’s okay).” The fans immediately echoed back, chanting “gwenchana,” surprising and amusing J-Hope. “I’m fine,” he added with a smile.

Impressive Stage Performance and Song Choices
J-Hope delivered a high-energy performance with a total of 22 songs over more than two hours. In addition to solo tracks like “Lock/Unlock,” “Sweet Dreams,” “MONA LISA,” and “Daydream,” he also performed BTS hits like “MIC Drop,” “Silver Spoon,” “Dis-ease,” and “Outro: Ego.”
The concert featured a spectacular stage design with immersive lighting, visual effects, and dynamic platform elements. During the encore, J-Hope performed “= (Equal Sign),” “Future,” and “NEURON,” giving fans an emotional and unforgettable ending to the first night.
Praise for Indonesian ARMYs
J-Hope repeatedly praised the energy and love of Indonesian ARMYs. “ARMY, you’re awesome!” he shouted while giving a thumbs up.
He also shared how much effort he put into this concert, especially since it had been so long since his last visit to Indonesia. “I think it’s been a really long time—maybe 2017 with BTS—since I was last here. So I really wanted to give my best and show my best self,” he said.
One More Day to Go!
The excitement continues with a second show scheduled for Sunday, May 4, 2025. Fans who missed the first night still have a chance to experience the joy live.
After Jakarta, the HOPE ON THE STAGE tour will continue to various major cities around the world. It kicked off at KSPO Dome in Seoul (Feb 28–Mar 2), followed by stops in Brooklyn, Chicago, San Antonio, Oakland, Los Angeles, and Mexico City throughout March. The tour then moves across Asia, visiting Manila, Saitama, Singapore, Bangkok, Macau, Taipei, and Osaka.
