Starring Darius Sinathrya and Megan Domani, Sugar Daddy is a 15-episode romantic comedy-drama that airs every Friday and Saturday.
The story follows Aurel (Megan Domani), a young woman raised under pressure and uncertainty, who unexpectedly forms a bond with Derry (Darius Sinathrya), a mature man still haunted by his past. Behind their seemingly sweet relationship lies a secret that begins to blur the lines between love, loss, and identity. As emotions grow and the past resurfaces, can they distinguish true love from unspoken needs?
At the gala premiere on Friday, May 2, 2025, in Jakarta, Megan Domani shared insights about her challenging role. “I play Aurel, a girl who initially lives in a happy family, but everything suddenly falls apart. Aurel is forced to become independent, yet she’s lost and unsure of her direction because everything changes so abruptly. She finds a friend very different from herself, becomes curious, and encounters both good and bad experiences,” Megan explained.
For Darius, his character is a family man. “Derry is a workaholic who deeply loves his family. But after losing his wife, his relationship with his child becomes strained. He has strong values as a father and wants to fix things, but struggles to express his emotions. As partners and parents, we all want to be fully present for our loved ones, and this role captures that emotional journey.”
“What’s interesting is that Aurel and I both think a lot before taking action. But one thing’s for sure—I would never personally look for a sugar daddy,” Megan added with a laugh. The chemistry between Darius and Megan has been warmly received on social media, making Sugar Daddy a hit on both platforms, even gaining traction in Malaysia through Viu.
