“Jodoh 3 Bujang” Releases Official Trailer & Poster A Fresh and Funny Family Comedy Story From Makassar to Indonesia

Jakarta, May 26, 2025 — A refreshing new work from production house Starvision, in collaboration with Rhaya Flicks, directed by Makassar-born filmmaker Arfan Sabran, brings a family comedy-drama titled “Jodoh 3 Bujang” (The Match for 3 Bachelors), inspired by a true story. This latest offering from Chand Parwez Servia, who has seen blockbuster success this year with Petaka Gunung Gede and Komang, is set to be the perfect movie to enjoy with friends and family during the school holiday season.

Jodoh 3 Bujang” follows the story of three bachelor brothers — Fadly (Jourdy Pranata), Kifly (Christoffer Nelwan), and Ahmad (Rey Bong) — who are urged by their parents to have a joint wedding due to financial limitations tied to traditional customs. However, Fadly’s arranged bride is suddenly matched with a more well-off man by her parents. Fadly must find a new bride in the limited time remaining, or their triple wedding will be called off!

In the official trailer released on Starvision’s YouTube channel, we see Fadly’s journey as he tries to fulfill his parents’ ambition, while also highlighting the complexities and tensions of planning a joint wedding, which becomes a central conflict between the brothers. The film also features hilarious appearances by comedians, including Musdalifah Basri.

The emotional tone is heightened with the soundtrack featuring “Seberapa Pantas” by Sheila on 7 and “Celengan Rindu” by Fiersa Besari. Also included is “Bersamamu” by Jaz, accompanying the three bachelors on their quest for love.

“Jodoh 3 Bujang” stars Jourdy Pranata, Aisha Nurra Datau, Maizura, Christoffer Nelwan, Barbie Arzetta, Rey Bong, Elsa Japasal, Arswendy Bening Swara, Cut Mini, Nugie, Iwan Coy, Zakaribo, Le Roy Osmany, Nunu Datau, Musdalifah Basri, Arla Ailani, and many more.“Jodoh 3 Bujang brings fresh comedy rooted in the strong cultural background of the Bugis-Makassar family tradition. Directed masterfully by the talented Arfan Sabran, this film takes Indonesian audiences on a journey full of laughter, warmth, and values that reflect on matchmaking, love, and what it means to fight for something meaningful,” said Chand Parwez Servia, producer of Jodoh 3 Bujang.“Jodoh 3 Bujang marks Rhaya Flicks’ growing involvement in the Indonesian film industry. Our collaboration with Starvision began long ago, and this refreshing film is a milestone for us to contribute more significantly to the future of Indonesian cinema. Starvision is known for heartwarming, meaningful family comedies and romances. Their past films like Get Married, Wedding Agreement, Dua Garis Biru, and Komang have always won audiences’ hearts. We’re confident that audiences will warmly receive this film by Arfan Sabran,” added Futih Aljihadi, producer at Rhaya Flicks.

This film is the fictional directorial debut of Arfan Sabran, who is best known for documentaries. He previously won the Citra Award at the 2022 Indonesian Film Festival for Best Feature Documentary with Ininnawa: An Island Calling. According to Arfan, directing Jodoh 3 Bujang and working with Starvision is a special opportunity.“Bringing a story with traditional and cultural ties to the Bugis-Makassar community to the Indonesian big screen is truly a special opportunity. Mr. Chand Parwez and Starvision always provide space for new stories and emerging talents like myself. I’m also grateful to work with a talented cast who brought this story to life so powerfully,” said Arfan Sabran, director of Jodoh 3 Bujang.

Jourdy Pranata, who plays Fadly, shared that learning the Bugis-Makassar dialect was a personal challenge. However, the story of three siblings resonated with him, as he is also the eldest of three children.“The challenge was conveying the message of the story while building a believable character in Fadly. I come from a Minang family and live in Jakarta, so using the Bugis-Makassar dialect was the hardest part. Thankfully, many of the cast and crew are from Makassar, which helped a lot,” said Jourdy Pranata.

Aisha Nurra Datau, reuniting with Starvision after Dua Hati Biru, plays Rifa, Fadly’s college friend who later moves away for her master’s degree. She explains that Rifa’s character will resonate with audiences due to the theme of unspoken and delayed feelings.“One interesting aspect of this film is how Rifa and Fadly, despite their social status differences, remain close friends. Yet those very differences create distance, leaving many emotions unexpressed. This film explores how people find the courage to express their true feelings when life gives them a second chance,” said Aisha Nurra Datau, who plays Rifa.

“Jodoh 3 Bujang” will be in theaters starting June 26, 2025!
