Reza Rahadian Joins Luna Maya in the Upcoming Film
From producer and writer Sunil Soraya comes the next chapter of Suzzanna.
Jakarta, May 30, 2025 — In a surprise announcement, production house Soraya Intercine Films revealed the continuation of the Suzzanna cinematic universe via an Instagram post on @sorayaintercinefilms on Friday, May 30, 2025. The post featured a teaser poster unveiling the upcoming horror film titled Suzzanna: Black Magic – Sin Upon Sin (original title: Suzzanna: Santet Dosa di Atas Dosa). Sunil Soraya, who wrote the scripts for the previous two Suzzanna films, returns once again as both screenwriter and producer for this new installment.
In addition to confirming the film’s production, the announcement revealed its lead cast through each actor’s personal Instagram account. Luna Maya will reprise her role as Suzzanna, continuing her successful portrayal from the two previous films. The news also confirmed the exciting addition of Reza Rahadian, a five-time Citra Award-winning actor, to the cast. This marks Reza’s return to Soraya Intercine Films after more than a decade since The Sinking of the Van der Wijck (2013).
Azhar Kinoi Lubis will direct Suzzanna: Black Magic – Sin Upon Sin, marking his first collaboration with Soraya Intercine Films. The film is set to begin production soon and will be released in theaters nationwide.“We are proud to present Suzzanna: Black Magic – Sin Upon Sin, which will begin production this year. The Suzzanna Universe first captivated audiences with Suzzanna: Buried Alive (Suzzanna: Bernapas dalam Kubur, 2018), a box office hit with over 3 million moviegoers. Its follow-up, Suzzanna: Friday Night Kliwon (Suzzanna: Malam Jumat Kliwon, 2023), also achieved blockbuster success with over 2 million viewers.
