Day 2 of Anime Festival Asia Indonesia 2025 (AFAID25), held at Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on June 7, 2025, was packed with thrilling activities that delighted fans of Japanese pop culture. Here’s a recap of the highlights:

Day Stage: Talk Shows and Premieres
The Day Stage was the heart of fan interaction. Famous voice actors like Shion Wakayama, Kazuki Ura, and Yuuki Kuwahara took the stage to discuss their latest projects and answer fans’ questions. Visitors were also treated to the premiere screening of the first episode of the anime Tougen Anki and a performance by the virtual group Kamitsubaki Studio.
Special Concert: The Music of Studio Ghibli
One of the main highlights of the day was the “The Music of Studio Ghibli Original Singers Symphony” concert. The concert featured original vocalists from legendary Studio Ghibli films, such as Yoshikazu Mera, Sumi Shimamoto, Azumi Inoue, and Yuyu, accompanied by the Tokyo Asia Orchestra. Attendees enjoyed iconic melodies from films like My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.
Akiba Town and Interactive Booths
Akiba Town was a paradise for collectors and merch enthusiasts. Booths from top brands like Crunchyroll, MANGAPlus, and Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia offered exclusive and limited-edition products. There was also a Bocchi the Rock!pop-up store and a special celebration for the MIKU EXPO 10th Anniversary that drew major crowds.
Game On! Zone and Exciting Tournaments
For gaming fans, the Game On! area was the place to be. Visitors could try out demo versions of the latest games and participate in competitive tournaments. A standout moment was the launch of Cookie Run Braverse TCG, a new trading card game that blends the Cookie Run universe with classic TCG mechanics.
Cosplay Extravaganza: International Cosplayers Shine
The day also featured spectacular performances by internationally renowned cosplayers. Baobao (Hong Kong), Thames Malerose (Thailand), Weian Vann (China), and YingTze (Malaysia) dazzled the crowd with their stunning costumes and stage presence. Fans got the chance to meet their cosplay idols and celebrate the art of cosplay together.
Day 2 of AFAID25 at JCC delivered a jam-packed program that satisfied fans of Japanese pop culture. With concerts, exhibitions, games, and cosplay galore, AFAID25 proved itself to be a must-visit destination for otaku and J-culture lovers in Indonesia.
