After winning the hearts of audiences last year, Keluarga Cemara: The Musical is set to return and greet fans of the beloved story once again. The performance will run from June 20 to July 13, 2025, at Ciputra Artpreneur, Jakarta. Fans who have been eagerly waiting can start purchasing tickets now via tiket.com.
Adapted from the legendary Keluarga Cemara story, this musical not only brings a heartfelt narrative to life but also uses music as a key storytelling element.
At a recent press conference, renowned composer Ifa Fachir shared insights about the ongoing music preparation process.
“Just last week, we had a session where the cast and orchestra met and started rehearsing together. It wasn’t on the theater stage yet—still in the gallery—but we’re starting to feel the blend between the orchestra and the performers,” Ifa said.
With these developments, the creative team is ensuring that this year’s production will be more detailed and finely tuned. Newcomers to the show will enjoy a memorable experience, while returning audiences will still feel a fresh and renewed sense of wonder, as if they were watching it for the first time.
With just ten days to go before opening night, the creators and creative team continue refining all aspects of the production. Producer Christian Immanuel also shared the latest updates:
“Previously, we said this version would be newer, and after seeing the current progress—from rehearsals to the set design—we can confidently say this production is grander. It’s not a repetition, it’s a reinvention. As creators, we’re excited ourselves to see the final result. We hope more people experience something different and that this becomes a tradition—making musical theater a part of family holiday culture every year,” said Chris.
In addition, social issues will remain an integral part of Keluarga Cemara: The Musical, but they will be conveyed in a lighter, more cheerful tone. The story doesn’t only revolve around familial bonds by blood, but also emphasizes the value of community. The themes will be presented reflectively and sensitively, ensuring the show can be enjoyed by audiences of all backgrounds.
