From the Creator of the Film JUMBO, Teaser Trailer for Call Me Dad Highlights the Warmth of Family Beyond Blood Ties A Remake of the Korean Film Pawn

Jakarta, June 20, 2025 — Following the tremendous success of JUMBO, the highest-grossing Indonesian film of all time, Visinema Studios is set to release another heartwarming family drama titled Call Me Dad, which will premiere in theaters starting August 7, 2025. The film tells a meaningful and laughter-filled family story.

In the teaser trailer—over one minute long—recently released on Visinema Pictures’ official social media, Ringgo Agus Rahman appears as Dedi, a debt collector who unexpectedly finds himself living with Intan (Myesha Lin), a little girl left as collateral by her mother, Rossa (Sita Nursanti), who is trapped in debt and must work overseas as a migrant worker.

Together with his cousin Tatang (Boris Bokir), Dedi begins a new chapter of life with Intan—what starts as an unwilling arrangement slowly grows into a life-changing bond. Filled with heartfelt moments and warm humor, this film invites viewers to rediscover the meaning of family—that being family doesn’t always require shared blood.

Netizens have flooded the comment section with excitement—many expressing anticipation for the film, having been deeply moved by the original version, Pawn, a Korean box office hit from 2020.

Directed by Benni Setiawan, a Citra Award winner for Best Director, Call Me Dad is adapted from Pawn, a South Korean film produced by CJ ENM in 2020. In this project, CJ ENM also serves as co-producer alongside Visinema Studios—marking a strategic collaboration between two creative powerhouses from South Korea and Indonesia to deliver a touching, entertaining, and culturally resonant family story.”Call Me Dad is part of Visinema Studios’ commitment to presenting family stories that not only entertain but also spark reflection and conversation. Through this film, we hope audiences can rediscover what family truly means—that it can grow from love born in unexpected encounters, not just from blood relations,” said Anggia Kharisma, the film’s producer and also Chief Content Officer of Visinema Studios.

The film also stars Tissa Biani as the adult Intan and will be screened in cinemas across Indonesia starting August 7, 2025. Stay updated on Call Me Dad via Instagram @panggilakuayahfilm and @visinemastudios.
