Welcoming National Children’s Day, CGV Cinemas Collaborates with Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection and Waroeng Imaji Foundation for Educational Film Screening

Jakarta, July 20, 2025 — In celebration of the upcoming National Children’s Day on July 23, PT Graha Layar Prima (CGV Cinemas) has teamed up with the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) and Waroeng Imaji Foundation to host a special Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event. Under the theme “Great Kids, Strong Indonesia Towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” 400 children from Rusunawa housing, orphanages, and children requiring special protection were invited to watch the educational animated film “JUMBO” at CGV Grand Indonesia on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

The screening of JUMBO is part of CGV’s commitment to supporting character education for children through the medium of film. The story follows Don, a chubby boy often underestimated by his friends. Determined to prove himself, Don prepares a stage performance inspired by a fairy tale book left by his parents. Through this story, children are encouraged to learn about friendship, empathy, and the importance of preventing bullying from an early age.

Having attracted over 10 million viewers in Indonesia, JUMBO carries strong moral values that align with the goals of this initiative: to provide children with an inspiring and enjoyable learning experience that fosters courage, intelligence, care, and mutual respect. To enhance the viewing experience, CGV also provided snacks and educational toys for all participants.

Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia, Arifah Fauzi, stated,“National Children’s Day is an important moment to reaffirm our commitment to protecting and fulfilling children’s rights. I urge all parties to support local creations as there will be many more JUMBO stories to come. The film’s message is clear: don’t bully, keep striving to prove your abilities, and don’t hesitate to help friends in need. We greatly appreciate CGV’s support in strengthening character education through film.”

Meanwhile, Chairperson of Waroeng Imaji Foundation, Dovieke Angsana, added,“As a nonprofit focused on empowering and developing children’s character, we warmly welcome this group viewing activity. We hope that by watching JUMBO, Indonesian children can learn to appreciate one another and understand the true meaning of friendship despite differences. We hope more organizations will care and support character education efforts for our nation’s children.”

CGV Cinemas Indonesia is committed to being an inclusive and educational entertainment platform for all communities. With 71 cinemas and 405 screens nationwide, CGV continuously seeks opportunities to present positive activities, creative outlets, and enjoyable viewing experiences for Indonesian families and children.

CEO of CGV Cinemas Indonesia, Mr. Mark Nah, concluded with his hopes,“We want CGV to be more than just a place for entertainment. We aspire to be a space for fun learning and inspiration for children and youth through child-friendly films, educational programs like kids field trips to cinemas, and collaborations on positive activities — especially during National Children’s Day.”
