Jakarta, August 21, 2025 – Starvision returns with another mountain-themed horror film through Pencarian Terakhir (The Final Search), hitting cinemas on August 28, 2025. After the huge success of Petaka Gunung Gede, which drew 3,242,843 viewers earlier this year, Starvision brings another spine-chilling adventure in the mountains with Pencarian Terakhir—a horror film rooted in the myths of Mount Sarangan, yet enriched by a deeply emotional family narrative.

Seven years after her mother vanished on Mount Sarangan, Drupadi (Adzana Ashel) returns to the mountain with her boyfriend and friends for a trail run. But the terror of Ki Tapa (Egi Fedly), the mystical guardian of the mountain, leads them astray. Drupadi and her group go missing, prompting her father, Tito (Donny Alamsyah), to confront his trauma and begin a mysterious, chilling search on the mountain.

Produced by Chand Parwez Servia and Mithu Nisar, Pencarian Terakhir is directed by Affandi Abdul Rachman. The film stars Adzana Ashel, Donny Alamsyah, Artika Sari Devi, Razan Zu, Fatih Unru, Alika Jantinia, Fadi Alaydrus, Dinda Mahira, Moh. Iqbal Sulaiman, Yama Carlos, Alex Abbad, Tesadesrada Ryza, Verdi Solaiman, Ramon Y Tungka, Azkya Mahira, Egi Fedly, Fuad Idris, and Ruth Marini.

A Sequel & the Third in Starvision’s Mountain Horror Universe

Pencarian Terakhir marks Starvision’s third mountain climbing horror project, following the box office hits Sekawan Limo and Petaka Gunung Gede. As a sequel to Pencarian Terakhir (2008), this film sheds light on long-standing mysteries left unsolved in the original.“This isn’t just a horror mystery about a search in the mountains,” said Donny Alamsyah. “It’s a story about a father preparing his daughter to become independent in her future life. The forest and mountain symbolize life’s challenges. The story is deep—there’s a mother who sacrifices herself to save her child, and a husband who ventures into a terrifying otherworld to find his wife.”

Behind the Cast’s Emotional and Physical Journeys

Adzana Ashel, who previously starred in Petaka Gunung Gede, shared that she now feels more comfortable filming in the mountains. Playing Drupadi, a girl raised in a loving family, she finds her father growing cold and strict, pushing her to become strong enough to face the world.“Previously, I felt the pressure of filming in the mountains, but this time I feel more independent,” said Adzana.

Artika Sari Devi, returning to the big screen after a six-year hiatus, expressed how impressed she was with the cast, especially the young talents. She revealed that the film was mentally and physically demanding.“This film challenged me both mentally and physically. It was a new journey for me as a mother. It also made me reflect on my relationship with my husband—I feel even more love now. The story of a father and daughter really moved me and made me want to understand my own child better,” said Artika.

Razan Zu, who plays Adzana Ashel’s on-screen partner and also appeared in Petaka Gunung Gede, said his character is one filled with responsibility, prioritizing his girlfriend Drupadi above all else.“Raka is someone who deeply cares about Drupadi. He’s responsible, empathetic, and always puts her first. In this film, I show that side of him—his empathy and dedication,” said Razan Zu.
