South Korean heartthrob Ahn Hyo Seop didn’t just greet fans with his charm during his Jakarta fan meeting—he also shared exciting behind-the-scenes stories from his latest projects. The event, titled “2025 AHN HYO SEOP FAN MEETING: I WANT TO SAY (Love, Jakarta)”, was held by TipTip ID on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Hall D2, JIEXpo Kemayoran.
In front of thousands of Pauljjak Indonesia (his fanbase), Ahn Hyo Seop talked about his latest film, “Omniscient Reader: The Prophet”, which turned out to be one of his most action-packed roles yet.“Has anyone seen it? The film is full of action scenes. I had to fly, fight dragons and goblins—this scene here is probably where I fell off the bridge,” the April 1995-born actor said with a smile, recalling the intense shoot.
Interestingly, despite the film’s fantasy setting, he was drawn to the role because of how ordinary his character felt.“It’s actually my first movie role. Usually, the characters I play have something unique or special. But this one was very normal—like someone you’d meet every day. I was curious to see how such an ‘ordinary’ character could grow and evolve through me,” he explained thoughtfully.
Voice Acting Debut—In English!
Hyo Seop also opened up about his experience voice acting in English for the animated film “Soda Pop”, where he played the character Jinu. What made the project special? It was his first time acting in English!“I was super curious, because I’ve never done voice acting before—and in English! I went to elementary and high school in Canada, so I always thought, ‘Maybe one day I’ll act in English.’ And through this opportunity, I finally did it.”
Being an animation lover himself, Hyo Seop quickly fell in love with his character.“I’ve always loved animation, and this made me realize how fun it actually is. I really grew to love the character Jinu through this experience.”
Which of His Characters Would He Want in Real Life?
In a fun interactive segment, Hyo Seop was asked to choose which of his past characters he’d want to exist in real life.“Wow… looking at these characters, I realized—they all go through so much!” he laughed.
“Seo Woo-jin is always exhausted—too many surgeries! Haram? Well, you all know he wants to quit being a king. Kang Tae-moo… he’s not too bad. If I had to choose someone to bring into the real world, I think I’d go with Tae-moo,” he said, making the audience roar with excitement.
Sweet Pickup Lines & Live Music Moments
Of course, no fan meeting would be complete without a bit of sweet fan service. Ahn Hyo Seop didn’t hold back when it came to making hearts flutter:“Can I appear in your dreams?” he asked playfully.
“You look beautiful today,” he added, making the crowd absolutely melt.
