JICAF 2025 Officially Opens — Time for Indonesian Illustration to Speak on the Global Stage

Jakarta, September 18, 2025 – The Jakarta Illustration & Creative Arts Fair (JICAF) officially opened today, Thursday, September 18, 2025, at The Space, Senayan City, Jakarta. Now in its third edition, JICAF returns with the theme “New Heights,” running from September 18 to October 5, 2025. This year’s fair features more than 100 artists from 25 countries, delivering a more expansive, inclusive, and experimental cross-border art experience.

As Indonesia’s largest illustration art platform, JICAF continues to break new ground by connecting artists, collectors, art lovers, and the creative industry. Last year’s theme, Chaotic City, explored the energy and complexity of urban life. In contrast, JICAF 2025 takes a bold new direction by focusing on inclusivity, experimentation, and bravery. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of fresh experiences, from participatory art programs and B2B networking & matchmaking to artist fan meets and signing sessions.

This year, JICAF received 764 submissions from 25 countries, a 41% increase from last year—solidifying its growing reputation as a respected international platform for visual artists.

Sunny Gho: “We’re Taking Indonesian Illustration to New Heights”

Sunny Gho, Co-Founder and Fair Director of JICAF, shared:“JICAF was created to empower Indonesian illustrators and help them enrich global art and culture. This year, we’re stepping into a new chapter with the spirit of New Heights, presenting fresher, more inclusive, and interactive programs.”

In addition to popular programs like Supermarket for Artworks, Exclusive Art Drop, and Live Art Experience, JICAF 2025 introduces several exciting new initiatives designed to expand the public’s engagement with art:

New Programs in JICAF 2025:

Inclusivity in Action: Collaboration with Tab Space Studio

A highlight of this year’s fair is JICAF’s collaboration with Tab Space Studio, an art studio dedicated to neurodiverse artists. This partnership brings bold and refreshing curations while opening up a more inclusive art space for diverse voices, perspectives, and creative expressions.

Sunny Gho added:“The collaboration with Tab Space Studio is an important step for us. By embracing inclusivity, we want to show that art is a universal language—accessible, felt, and appreciated by everyone.”

Cross-Industry Curators: A Fresh Perspective on Illustration

JICAF 2025 features a multi-disciplinary board of curators, offering a richer, more diverse perspective. The board includes not only artists and gallerists but also key figures from music, film, and the wider creative industries.
