From a Water Gun in the Stands to Rocking L’Arc~en~Ciel’s “HONEY” and Talking About Rendang
The stage at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta, came alive on Saturday (November 1, 2025) as legendary Japanese rock icon HYDE made his long-awaited return to Indonesia for the HYDE [INSIDE] LIVE 2025 Tour.
With his signature mix of mystery and charisma, HYDE delivered a show packed with energy, surprises, and raw emotion — leaving the crowd, known as Hydeists, screaming non-stop from start to finish.“You guys are amazing!” HYDE shouted in Bahasa Indonesia, drawing thunderous cheers from thousands of fans filling the venue.
A Dramatic Entrance: Rising from the “Coffin”
Even before the show began, fans were buzzing with curiosity over a tall, coffin-shaped prop set onstage. Many assumed HYDE would emerge from inside it — but the singer had other plans.
As the lights dimmed, HYDE appeared standing on top of the prop, wearing a black hoodie and a half-face mask, immediately launching into his powerful opening song, “LET IT OUT.” The mysterious stage presence set the tone for an electrifying night ahead.

Explosive Energy and Constant Interaction
From the moment he took the stage, HYDE was a whirlwind of energy. He sprinted from one side of the stage to the other without missing a note — no easy feat considering his hard rock-heavy setlist.
In between growls and soaring vocals, he laughed and shouted playfully, turning the concert into what felt like a massive rock party. During “DEVIL SIDE,” HYDE even grabbed a pair of drumsticks and joined the drummer mid-song before diving back into his vocals.
His raspy yet clean voice rang clear through tracks like “Tokoshie,” “Mugen,” and “Last Song.”
One of the biggest highlights came during “MAD QUALIA,” when HYDE climbed onto the barricade, reaching out to touch the hands of fans in the front row. But the real shock came next — during “PANDORA,” HYDE suddenly appeared in the audience stands, spraying fans with a toy water gun while laughing mischievously.
Then came the night’s biggest surprise: a rock version of “HONEY,” a classic he originally wrote for L’Arc~en~Ciel, the band that made him a household name. The crowd erupted — a rare treat, since the song rarely appears in HYDE’s solo tour setlists.
The Band Behind the Magic
HYDE wasn’t alone in creating the magic. His backing band elevated every song with impressive musicianship — shredding guitars, thunderous drums, and hypnotic keys.
One standout moment came when the keyboardist played an entire section facing backward, earning huge applause from the audience.
The concert reached its fever pitch with two explosive closing tracks: “GLAMOROUS SKY” and “SEX BLOOD ROCK N’ ROLL.” The energy in Tennis Indoor Senayan was off the charts — a perfect fusion of lights, sound, and unrelenting adrenaline.
From Rendang to Demon Slayer
In between songs, HYDE lightened the mood with some fun banter — even talking about rendang, Indonesia’s famous spicy beef dish. The crowd roared with laughter as he admitted how much he loved it.
Before performing a cover of Linkin Park’s “Faint,” HYDE invited the audience to sing along to “Mugen,” his collaboration with My First Story and one of the theme songs from the hit anime Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba). Fans of the series enthusiastically joined in, their voices blending with HYDE’s soaring high notes.
Then came “Faint,” which kicked the audience’s adrenaline into overdrive. HYDE’s gritty vocals shook the venue to its core, with fans jumping, headbanging, and flashing metal horns into the air.
A Night to Remember
From playful banter and wild stunts to nostalgic surprises, HYDE [INSIDE] LIVE 2025 Jakarta proved once again why HYDE is more than just a singer — he’s a master performer who knows how to command every inch of the stage.“Jakarta, you’re amazing! I’ll be back!” HYDE shouted before leaving the stage — a promise that drew roaring cheers and smiles all around.
As the lights dimmed and the crowd slowly dispersed, one thing was clear: Jakarta just witnessed a night that will live forever in the hearts of every Hydeist.
