Netflix Unveils Trailer for New Korean Series Boyfriend on Demand A Romantic Comedy Starring Jisoo and Seo In-guk

Netflix is set to brighten viewers’ daily lives with its latest Korean series, Boyfriend on Demand, a charming romantic comedy that blends virtual dating fantasies with real-world chemistry.

Premiering on March 6, 2026, the series follows Mi-rae (Jisoo), a webtoon producer exhausted by her monotonous daily routine. Seeking a break from reality, she signs up for a subscription-based virtual dating service—also called Boyfriend on Demand—which offers personalized fantasy dates with idealized versions of men tailored to each user’s preferences.

Set against the familiar backdrop of office life, the series playfully explores the contrast between the perfection of virtual romance and the messy, unpredictable reality of real-world relationships, offering a relatable and entertaining twist on modern love.

First Look: Trailer and Poster

The official poster and trailer give fans a glimpse into Mi-rae’s journey between mundane reality and romantic fantasy. In the trailer, Mi-rae enters the virtual dating program for the first time, guided by her charming dating manager (Yoo In-na), and quickly finds herself swept into a series of dreamy scenarios.

From fairy-tale princes and first loves from school to confident doctors, secret agents on missions, and top celebrities, Mi-rae experiences a series of dazzling, storybook-like dates that leave her dazed yet delighted.

Romance in Reality

Back in the real world, Mi-rae frequently encounters Kyeong-nam (Seo In-guk), her coworker and overtime companion. Their slow-burning romance develops alongside Mi-rae’s virtual adventures, raising questions about the idea of a “perfect partner” versus the imperfect love she experiences in reality.

“One of the most compelling aspects of Boyfriend on Demand is that the main character experiences romantic interactions with a variety of individuals across different settings and worlds within one series,” said director Kim Jung-sik. “This allows viewers to enjoy a wide spectrum of romantic comedy scenarios.”

Virtual Dates, Real Charm

Regarding the virtual dating scenes, Kim Jung-sik added:
“My focus was on showcasing Jisoo’s charm in as many ways as possible. We created distinct professions and personalities for her virtual dates, giving each scene a unique flavor compared to Mi-rae’s real-world persona.”

The series features a star-studded lineup as Mi-rae’s virtual boyfriends, including Seo Kang-jun, Lee Soo-hyuk, Ong Seong-wu, Lee Jae-wook, Lee Hyun-wook, Jay Park, Kim Young-dae, and Lee Sang-yi—each bringing a distinct romantic flavor to Mi-rae’s simulated love life. Adding further charm are Ha Young and Yoo In-na, whose characters inject joy and humor into the series.
