JAKARTA, March 17, 2026 — The Indonesian drama scene is heating up with the upcoming series OTW Halal, set to premiere on March 31, 2026, on the streaming platform Viu. Starring Fadly Faisal and Maudy Effrosina as the lead pair, the show has already captured public attention—not just for its storyline, but also for the duo’s real-life closeness.

She’s not a bad person—she was just forced by circumstances to take the wrong path,” she explained. She also admitted that the character is very different from her real personality. “Renata is very vocal, while I tend to keep things to myself.”
Meanwhile, Fadly Faisal plays Rafi, a kind-hearted santri who is on a journey to become an ustad. In contrast to Renata, Rafi is portrayed as patient, calm, and mature in dealing with life’s challenges.
“Rafi is a good person, but not naive. He has strong principles and a mature mindset. Honestly, he’s very different from me,” Fadly said with a laugh.
The contrast between these two characters is what makes OTW Halal particularly compelling. Rafi’s calm and religious values meet Renata’s troubled past and inner struggles, creating a story that goes beyond romance and dives into deeper emotional territory.
