The 30th anniversary celebration of Asian Kung-Fu Generation finally made its way to Jakarta, delivering a vibrant and unforgettable night through “LIVE in Jakarta.” More than just a concert, the event became a tribute to the band’s three-decade journey and lasting influence in the rock scene.
The night opened with a strong performance by The Adams, who immediately set the mood with their song “Masa-Masa.” Their signature indie sound warmed up the crowd effortlessly. In a heartfelt moment, they also expressed their congratulations to Asian Kung-Fu Generation on their 30th anniversary—simple, yet meaningful.
Performing around 6 to 8 songs, The Adams kept the audience engaged throughout their set. One highlight came when they mentioned that their third song held a special meaning as part of the anniversary celebration.
Next up was Alexandros, who took over the stage with a powerful and energetic performance. Known for their dynamic sound and stage presence, they delivered around 7 to 8 songs, including a new track featured as an anime soundtrack—instantly exciting fans in attendance.
Between each performance, there were short pauses to rearrange and prepare the band equipment. While technical in nature, these breaks gave the audience a moment to catch their breath before diving back into the high-energy atmosphere.
The concert also drew attention from several Indonesian public figures, including Fatin Sidqia Lubis and Eno Bening, along with a number of radio broadcasters who added to the lively crowd.
Interestingly, the audience wasn’t just local—fans from Japan were also present, creating a cross-cultural atmosphere that highlighted music’s ability to bring people together beyond borders.
As the main act, Asian Kung-Fu Generation delivered a passionate performance, playing songs that have defined their long career. During the show, they shared that Jakarta was only one stop on their ongoing anniversary tour, with more cities yet to come.
The most explosive moment came during the encore, when “Haruka Kanata” was performed. The iconic track sent the crowd into a frenzy—everyone sang along, jumped, and fully embraced the wave of nostalgia.
More than just a live show, the concert was a celebration of music, memories, and connection. From the warm opening acts to the electrifying finale, every moment came together to create an experience that will stay with fans long after the night ended.
