ONE OK ROCK Holds Grand Finale of DETOX Asia Tour 2026 in Jakarta, Taka Delivers an All-Out Performance Despite Injury and Exhaustion

ONE OK ROCK concert at Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, on Saturday night, May 16, 2026, was far more than just another tour stop. The final show of their ONE OK ROCK: DETOX Asia Tour 2026 became a powerful reminder of why Taka Moriuchi is widely regarded as one of the best rock frontmen of his generation.

Performing in front of more than 15,000 fans, Taka gave an explosive, emotional, and nearly flawless performance. What made the night even more remarkable was the fact that the journey leading up to Jakarta had been anything but easy for the vocalist.

Before arriving in Indonesia, Taka reportedly struggled through several physical and emotional challenges during the tour, including panic attacks, vocal exhaustion, and an ankle injury he suffered while performing in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on April 29. Yet instead of slowing down, he chose to keep standing on stage and give everything he had for the fans.

From the moment the concert began, ONE OK ROCK immediately unleashed their signature explosive energy. Alongside Toru Yamashita (guitar), Ryota Kohama (bass), and Tomoya Kanki (drums), Taka brought the crowd to life with a powerful setlist featuring classics from albums such as Niche Syndrome (2010), Zankyo Reference (2011), and Jinsei x Boku = (2013), seamlessly blended with tracks from their latest album, DETOX (2025).

Taka’s performance throughout the night felt especially impressive. His vocals remained strong and stable, showcasing his wide vocal range with ease. During songs like “Make It Out Alive” and “C.U.R.I.O.S.I.T.Y,” he even unleashed his signature growl screams, sending the audience into absolute frenzy.

Midway through the show, the atmosphere turned more emotional as Taka opened up about the long and difficult journey behind the DETOX tour, which had lasted nearly a year and a half.

“We’ve been on this tour for almost one and a half years. It’s been a very long journey with so many stories behind it. But in every city, we always met incredible energy from the audience. Tonight feels very emotional because we finally reached the last show of the DETOX tour,” Taka told the crowd.

He also admitted that this tour had been one of the toughest experiences the band had ever faced.

“This tour was really hard. The theme we carried this time was much stronger than before, and maybe that’s why we kept trying to pour all of our energy and message into every performance,” he continued.

The emotional atmosphere grew even deeper after the band performed their iconic ballad “Wherever You Are.” One by one, the members shared heartfelt messages with Jakarta fans, who became the final audience of their Asia tour.

Bassist Ryota Kohama expressed both relief and happiness that Jakarta became the closing city of their long journey.

“Guys, we’re truly happy to be here. This is the final day of our world tour. That means tonight we don’t have to think about the next show or tomorrow anymore. Let’s give all our energy tonight,” Ryota shouted, earning loud cheers from the audience.

Meanwhile, guitarist Toru Yamashita could not hide his amazement at the massive crowd filling Indonesia Arena.

“We missed you so much. After three years, I’m really happy to come back. Wow, this is our biggest show here. We did it tonight,” Toru proudly said.

On the other hand, drummer Tomoya Kanki successfully lightened the mood with his humorous Indonesian phrases, instantly making the entire arena burst into laughter.

“How are you, Jakarta? I’m so happy to be back here, thank you so much. I love broccoli, I love cilok, I love all of you!” Tomoya joked, drawing huge laughter from the crowd.

As the perfect finale, ONE OK ROCK performed “We Are” from their 2017 album Ambitions as the final encore of the night. The song transformed into a powerful anthem of togetherness, sung passionately by thousands of fans and closing the concert on a deeply emotional note.

The DETOX Asia Tour 2026 concert also marked ONE OK ROCK’s fourth visit to Indonesia. Their journey in the country reflects just how massively their popularity has grown over the years.

The Japanese rock band first performed in Jakarta on November 24, 2013, during their Who Are You?? Who We Are?? Asia Tour, held at the Senayan Swimming Pool Parking Area in front of around 3,000 attendees.

Six years later, on February 16, 2019, they were selected as the opening act for Ed Sheeran at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK). Their popularity in Indonesia continued to soar, leading to another solo concert during the Luxury Disease Asia Tour on September 29, 2023, at Beach City International Stadium in Ancol.

Now, through their biggest Indonesian concert yet at Indonesia Arena with over 15,000 attendees, ONE OK ROCK once again proved that their connection with Indonesian fans goes far beyond music — it is an emotional bond that continues to grow stronger with every visit.
