Jakarta, May 22, 2026 — Keluarga Suami Adalah Hama presented by Umbara Brothers Film and VMS Studio, is now showing in theaters and has received positive responses from audiences. Starring Omar Daniel, Raihaanun, Meriam Bellina, Sitha Marino, and Jeremie Moeremans, the film realistically portrays the dynamics of married life.
There is a common saying that once you are married, you should not live with your parents or in-laws, and this film serves as a real example of why. Director Anggy Umbara revealed that the story in Keluarga Suami Adalah Hama t is deeply personal to him.
“This film is so me — it really happened to me. My wife and my mother were in conflict for years, even the food was never right for my mom, so there was a lot I could put into the story, honestly and authentically,” said Keluarga Suami Adalah Hama writer, producer, and director Anggy Umbara.
“Everyone in a marriage has experienced something like this. I’ve been married for 20 years, and this comes from the perspective of someone who has seen and felt it all firsthand — something we all feel but never really talk about,” Anggy Umbara added.
However, for Anggy, Keluarga Suami Adalah Hama is also meant to reassure people who are experiencing situations like Damar and Intan in the film that they are not alone. The movie also aims to bring together people facing similar struggles and inspire families to become better.
“I hope people can broaden their perspective and find a good support system,” Anggy said.
Produced by Umbara Brothers Film and VMS Studio, the film is made in collaboration with 10 Star, SR Film, and DBay. It is produced by Shalu T.M., Indah Destriana, and Anggy Umbara. In addition to producing and directing, Anggy also wrote the screenplay for the film.
