The upcoming Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2026 is set to enter a bold new chapter. As the festival celebrates its 21st edition, organizers are preparing a major transformation designed to offer audiences a completely fresh and immersive experience — from a brand-new venue to innovative attractions never seen before in previous years.
For over two decades, Java Jazz has established itself as Indonesia’s largest jazz festival and one of the most respected music events in Asia. But in 2026, the festival is determined to evolve beyond its familiar identity.
A New Venue, A New Energy
One of the biggest changes this year is the relocation of the festival venue. The myBCA International Java Jazz Festival 2026 will take place on May 29, 30, and 31 at NICE (Nusantara International Convention Exhibition) in PIK 2, North Jakarta.
According to Dewi Gontha, the move represents more than just a logistical change — it symbolizes transformation and creative renewal.
After years of using the previous venue, the organizers believe the new location provides far greater space and flexibility to bring ambitious ideas to life. Dewi described the festival’s new look as “very fresh” and “very interesting,” emphasizing that the larger venue opens opportunities for more creative exploration and enhanced visitor facilities.
The goal is simple: offer audiences something entirely new.
More Than Just a Music Festival
Java Jazz 2026 aims to become more than a concert experience. Organizers are introducing several interactive and lifestyle-focused attractions to enrich the overall atmosphere.
Among the new features are glamorous glambot photo experiences on the red carpet, free photo spots across the venue, and merchandise vending machines that allow visitors to purchase official festival items instantly and conveniently.
To improve accessibility, shuttle transportation services will also be provided for attendees traveling to the venue. Visitors can monitor transportation schedules and information through the festival’s official website and social media platforms.
One of the most exciting additions is the “Museum of Toys,” created in collaboration with Sony Group. The interactive space promises a large-scale entertainment area that combines music, film, and pop culture experiences under one roof.
The festival will also introduce exclusive lounge areas — a facility never previously available at Java Jazz — giving audiences a more premium and comfortable way to enjoy the event.
All of these additions signal the festival’s ambition to transform into a complete entertainment destination rather than simply a series of performances.
A Star-Studded International Lineup
As always, music remains at the heart of Java Jazz Festival. This year’s lineup features an impressive mix of international and Indonesian artists spanning jazz, soul, funk, pop, and alternative music.
Among the major international acts are Jon Batiste, Wave to Earth, Earth, Wind & Fire Experience by Al McKay, Dave Koz, Ella Mai, Thee Sacred Souls, and Lisa Simone.
Indonesia’s music scene will also be strongly represented by performers such as RAN, Maliq & D’Essentials, Yura Yunita, Slank, Ziva Magnolya, The Groove, and many others.
The diversity of performers reflects Java Jazz Festival’s increasingly open approach toward musical collaboration and cross-genre exploration.
A Festival Entering a New Era
The transformation of Java Jazz Festival 2026 represents a significant moment in the festival’s history. While the event continues to honor its jazz roots, it is also embracing modern entertainment culture by combining music, technology, lifestyle experiences, and interactive attractions.
For audiences, the new concept offers the promise of something more immersive and memorable. For the organizers, it is an opportunity to redefine what a music festival can be in Indonesia.
As Java Jazz enters its 21st year, the festival appears ready not only to celebrate music — but also to reinvent itself for a new generation of fans.
