Dancing Through the Downpour: Diskoria’s Wet Outdoor Set at Java Jazz 2026

Anyone who frequently attends outdoor gigs in Jakarta knows the drill: always expect the unexpected when it comes to the weather. Saturday night at the new NICE venue in PIK 2 delivered exactly that during one of the most anticipated sets of the evening.

Diskoria was scheduled to shut down the outdoor JBL stage at the myBCA International Java Jazz Festival 2026. The retro-pop duo has built a massive following for turning any venue into a vintage discotheque, and the expectations were sky-high. Right as they started dropping their infectious beats, the sky opened up. A sudden, heavy downpour swept across the festival grounds.

Logically, a heavy rainstorm should clear out an open-air stage immediately. People usually scatter for the nearest indoor hall or food tent.

Instead, the crowd stayed right where they were.

The rain seemed to act like a shot of adrenaline for the audience. Festival-goers pulled out their emergency ponchos, covered their heads with whatever was available, and kept dancing in the mud. Diskoria completely matched that chaotic, brilliant energy. They powered through the set, treating the downpour as part of the production value rather than a disaster.

The duo also brought serious backup to keep the momentum going. Andien, Neida, Morad, and even veteran crooner Harvey Malaihollo braved the wet stage to perform alongside them. Seeing those massive guest stars singing in the rain alongside thousands of drenched fans created an unforgettable festival memory.

Sometimes, the best gig moments happen when everything goes wrong. Diskoria’s wet, wild outdoor party easily became one of the definitive highlights of Saturday’s lineup.
