Love in Sync Preview: Kim Myung-soo Waits Anxiously Outside Kang Min-ah’s Hospital Room

The romance is beginning to blossom in Love in Sync, but not without emotional twists along the way.

The eight-episode romantic comedy, which premiered on Viu last week, stars Kim Myung-soo (better known as L of INFINITE) alongside actress Kang Min-ah. Blending romance, comedy, and a touch of surreal fantasy, the series follows two emotionally opposite individuals whose lives become intertwined through an unusual phenomenon known as “emotion transfer.”

Kim Myung-soo plays Cha Eun Hwan, a respected psychological counselor famous for his unconventional “imaginary revenge” therapy. Although he helps others process their emotions, Eun Hwan quietly struggles with the emotional burden of absorbing his clients’ pain.

His life changes after meeting Yoo Ji An (Kang Min-ah), a top actress and former girl group member who has built emotional walls around herself. As the two begin to experience each other’s emotions through a mysterious connection, they slowly discover that understanding someone else may also mean confronting their own hidden scars.

Old Rivalries Resurface

The first episode reveals that the story extends beyond Eun Hwan and Ji An’s growing relationship.

Ji An shares a complicated history with Han Yi Jin (played by Kwon So Hyun), a rising actress who was once her fellow idol group member. Their friendship has long since turned into a bitter rivalry, fueled by unresolved wounds from their past.

Unexpectedly, Eun Hwan finds himself caught between the two women when they both become his counseling clients. His attempts to help them navigate their emotional struggles inadvertently reignite the tension that has lingered between the former groupmates for years.

The episode reaches a dramatic turning point during Ji An’s first counseling session. When Eun Hwan briefly leaves the room to answer a phone call, a sudden power outage plunges the building into darkness. Left alone, Ji An is overwhelmed by panic.

Remembering that she suffers from an intense fear of being alone during rainy weather, Eun Hwan rushes back and forces open the jammed counseling room door. Just as Ji An loses consciousness, she collapses into his arms—an unexpected moment that marks the beginning of their unique bond.

Episode 2: Concern Beyond Words

The emotional aftermath continues in Episode 2.

Still shaken by the incident, Eun Hwan waits anxiously outside Ji An’s hospital room, unable to hide his concern. Meanwhile, Ji An, lying in her hospital bed, reflects on her first encounter with the counselor who seemed able to see beyond the carefully guarded image she presents to the world.

At the same time, Eun Hwan faces a crisis of his own. His signature “imaginary revenge” counseling method, which has earned him widespread recognition, begins to lose its foundation after learning that one of his former clients has become involved in a troubling incident. The news leaves him questioning both his professional abilities and the value of the counseling approach he has always believed in.

Familiar Faces for K-Drama Fans

Kim Myung-soo first rose to fame as a member of the K-pop group INFINITE before establishing a successful acting career, with Dare to Love Me among his recent projects. Kang Min-ah is widely recognized for her role in Gaus Electronics, while Kwon So Hyun—who portrays Ji An’s longtime rival—was previously a member of the girl group 4Minute.

With heartfelt romance, emotional healing, and unresolved rivalries beginning to collide, Love in Sync promises more compelling moments as the story unfolds.

Love in Sync airs every Saturday and Sunday on Viu, complete with Indonesian subtitles.
