A grandfather’s fight to protect his family takes center stage in Sidharta Tata’s latest action-packed film, blending intense combat with an emotional three-generation family story.

Netflix has officially unveiled the latest trailer and poster for Serangan Balik, its upcoming Indonesian Original film set to premiere globally on November 12, 2026.

Directed by Sidharta Tata, the film follows an unlikely hero who must confront a dangerous criminal syndicate while attempting to rebuild the bonds of his family. Combining adrenaline-fueled action with heartfelt family drama, Serangan Balik promises a compelling story about courage, sacrifice, and the meaning of standing together when everything is at stake.

The newly released trailer offers a glimpse into the chaos that unfolds when a grandfather’s quiet, solitary life is unexpectedly interrupted by the arrival of his two grandchildren. What initially seems like an ordinary family reunion soon turns into a fight for survival.

With a past as a special forces operative, the grandfather is forced to draw on his combat experience and tactical skills to protect his grandchildren from a ruthless criminal syndicate. As danger closes in, the three find themselves facing a life-changing decision: surrender or fight back.

Set in a small village in Central Java, Serangan Balik is more than just an action film. At its heart, the story explores the emotional journey of three generations as they navigate grief, confront their past, and learn to trust one another again.

Through intense fight sequences, clever tactical moves, and relatable family dynamics, the film balances high-stakes action with an intimate story of redemption and reconciliation. This unique combination makes Serangan Balik an action film with heart, where the strongest battles are not necessarily fought with fists, but through the courage to reconnect with the people who matter most.

The film also marks the first collaboration between director Sidharta Tata and renowned producers Kimo Stamboel and Edwin Nazir, bringing together creative talents to deliver a fresh addition to Indonesia’s action-film landscape.

Featuring an ensemble cast led by Lukman Sardi, alongside Callista Arum, Sulthan Hamonangan, Derby Romero, and Donny Alamsyah, Serangan Balik is set to deliver an exciting cinematic experience filled with suspense, emotional depth, and powerful performances.

The official trailer for Serangan Balik is now available to watch, offering audiences an early look at the action and family drama awaiting them.

Mark your calendars: Serangan Balik premieres globally on November 12, 2026, exclusively on Netflix.
