The South Korean boy band SEVENTEEN gave a truly localized performance at their first-day concert held at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) on Saturday, February 8, 2025.
The group, under PLEDIS Entertainment, was repeatedly heard speaking in Indonesian throughout the concert.
“Mana suaranya?” (Where’s the voice?) shouted The8 in Indonesian.
“Ayo senang-senang bersama” (Let’s have fun together), said Seungkwan, still using Indonesian.
When Mingyu appeared on the screen, fans greeted him with cheers, and Mingyu replied, “Terima kasih, terima kasih” (Thank you, thank you).
Meanwhile, Hoshi gave a unique introduction by recalling their previous appearance at JIS during the 2024 Golden Disc Awards.
“If I remember correctly, I was here during the Golden Disc Awards,” said Hoshi. “And once again, we are honored to hold this concert at the stadium,” he added.
When it was Joshua’s turn, he took a different approach by asking the audience about their feelings.
“What’s up? How are you feeling today?” he asked, followed by an excited response from the fans.
But it wasn’t just these members; SEVENTEEN kept using Indonesian phrases like “Aku Cinta Kamu” (I love you), “Sampai Jumpa Lagi” (See you again), and even “Waduh” (Oh no).
Among all of them, the moment that stole the show was when Wonwoo spoke Indonesian.
Wonwoo reminisced about his trip to Yogyakarta a few years ago from the stage.
“We once traveled to Yogyakarta. It was an incredible memory. I feel like I want to travel again (vacation in Indonesia),” Wonwoo shared in Korean.
He then recalled the Indonesian phrase he learned during that trip. It happened when they were bargaining while shopping.
Wonwoo and the other members tried to bargain for goods in Indonesian, and this moment was humorously repeated by Wonwoo during the concert last night.
“Mahal mahal mahal” (Expensive, expensive, expensive), Wonwoo said, causing the CARAT (SEVENTEEN’s fans) to burst into laughter.

SEVENTEEN’s leader, S.Coups, greeted the fans and thanked them for the warm welcome from the Indonesian Carat.
Although SEVENTEEN was missing two of their members, they continued the concert by performing songs like Ash and Crush. They also performed as sub-units, showcasing their hit songs like Water and Monster by the Hip-Hop Unit, Candy and Cheers to Youth by the Vocal Unit, and Lilili Yabbay and Rain by the Performance Unit.
This concert, promoted by Mecimapro, is still ongoing. Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR IN JAKARTA second day concert day will take place at the same venue on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
