Exciting news has arrived for fans of Japanese rock. Legendary band ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION has officially revealed new details about their 30th anniversary concert in Jakarta. Titled “30TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL CONCERT LIVE in JAKARTA”, the event is set to take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026—and is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated music events of the year.
AKG (as they are fondly known) won’t be performing alone. They will be joined by fellow Japanese rock band [Alexandros] and Indonesia’s own alternative rock act The Adams. This cross-country collaboration promises a concert experience packed with energy, excitement, and memorable moments.
For three decades, ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION has established itself as one of the most influential bands in Japan’s rock scene. Their songs—such as Haruka Kanata (Naruto), Rewrite (Fullmetal Alchemist), After Dark (Bleach), and Re:Re: (ERASED)—are more than just soundtracks; they’ve become part of the emotional journey of fans across generations. Indonesia, notably, stands as one of their largest fan bases outside Japan.
What makes this concert even more special is that it marks the first time ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION and [Alexandros] will perform together in a show produced directly by AKG. Although they’ve previously shared stages at various festivals, this collaboration was sparked by their meeting at Kyoto Ongaku Hakurankai 2025—an encounter that inspired the idea for this special Jakarta performance.
