Legendary American progressive metal band Dream Theater is set to return to Indonesia to celebrate 40 years of their musical journey. The concert, titled “An Evening With Dream Theater – 40th Anniversary Tour 2026,” will take place on 7 February 2026 at Beach City International Stadium, Jakarta.
This special tour marks four decades of Dream Theater’s influence as one of the most important bands in the history of progressive metal. Presented in a no-opening-act format, the concert is designed as an exclusive experience, featuring an extended setlist lasting approximately three hours, showcasing the band’s musical evolution from their early years to their latest releases.
Full Lineup and the Return of Mike Portnoy
The Jakarta concert will feature the complete Dream Theater lineup: James LaBrie (vocals), John Myung (bass), John Petrucci (guitar), Jordan Rudess (keyboards), and Mike Portnoy (drums). The return of Mike Portnoy after more than a decade away from the band is one of the most anticipated highlights of the tour, making this performance especially emotional and historic for fans.
Jakarta has become one of the most eagerly awaited stops on the tour, as fans will witness all five members sharing the stage once again during this milestone celebration.
Venue Update: Moved to Beach City International Stadium
Promoter Rajawali Indonesia has officially announced that the concert venue has been changed from Stadion Madya, Gelora Bung Karno, to Beach City International Stadium. The decision was made to ensure a more optimal concert experience for audiences.
With a fully indoor venue, the production quality—including sound, lighting, and stage visuals—can be maximized, while also providing greater comfort and protection from weather conditions.
“This venue change was made to ensure the highest production quality and the best possible viewing experience. With a fully indoor setup, we can guarantee weather safety and deliver production standards that match the scale and significance of Dream Theater’s 40th anniversary,” said Tovic Raharja, CEO of Rajawali Indonesia.
All previously purchased tickets remain fully valid and can be used at the new venue without any exchange process.
Global Achievements Ahead of the 40th Anniversary Tour
Ahead of the anniversary tour, Dream Theater continues to achieve international recognition. The band has earned five Prog Report Awards and received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Metal Performance with their song “Night Terror.”
Their latest album, Parasomnia, was also featured on Rolling Stone’s list of “The 15 Best Metal Albums of 2025,” further solidifying Dream Theater’s status as one of the most influential progressive metal bands in the world.
