The meaning behind The Classical Recital is a musical journey through various sonic landscapes. Starting with Edvard Grieg’s Sonata No. 3, rich in Northern European nuance, followed by Tchaikovsky’s elegant Valse-Scherzo, and the virtuosic Zigeunerweisen by Sarasate. In the second act, the audience will be treated to traditional Indonesian compositions, performed in classical style with violin and piano.
The piece Konserto Nusantara is a special composition presented to Iskandar by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, and was previously performed with the Royal Orchestra Yogyakarta. This concerto showcases Indonesian regional songs in a grand and classical format.
