K-pop fans in Indonesia are about to get a closer look at Jacob of THE BOYZ.
The Canadian-born idol is set to meet The B Indonesia through ‘JACOB 1st Asia Showcase: More Than Words Tour 2026 in Jakarta’, taking place today, Saturday (August 22, 2026), at CGV Grand Indonesia. Beyond his musical performances, the showcase promises a more intimate experience, giving fans the chance to see Jacob in a different light as he continues his journey as a solo artist.
Titled More Than Words, the showcase is part of Jacob’s new chapter as a musician. Rather than sharing the spotlight with his fellow THE BOYZ members, Jacob will have the stage to himself, allowing him to express his personality, artistry, and musical colors in a more personal way.
Known for his distinctive vocals, warm personality, and versatile performance style, Jacob is expected to bring a mix of music and fan interactions to the stage.
Compared with the larger-scale atmosphere of a group concert, a solo showcase offers Jacob more opportunities to communicate directly with his fans. Through this tour, he also hopes to explore a more introspective side of his artistry as he grows into his identity as a solo musician.
Jacob Is Excited to Meet The B Indonesia
Before taking the stage, Jacob attended the press conference for ‘JACOB 1st Asia Showcase: More Than Words Tour 2026 in Jakarta’ on Friday (August 21, 2026), at The Plaza, IDN HQ, South Jakarta.
During the press conference, Jacob shared his excitement about meeting his Indonesian fans. He is also well aware of how energetic Indonesian audiences can be when attending concerts.“I know that Indonesian fans, when they come to concerts, they love to sing along, dance, and just have a great time. So I hope that during this showcase, even though I don’t have many fast-paced songs to dance to, they will still sing along with me.”
For Jacob, the energy of The B Indonesia is an important part of the experience. Even if the majority of his solo repertoire has a more laid-back feel, he hopes fans will continue to sing along and enjoy every moment of the show with him.
Jacob Says His Solo Journey Is Just Beginning
The More Than Words tour also represents an important new phase in Jacob’s musical career.
After launching his solo activities and releasing his latest album, Jacob admits that he is still learning what it means to be a solo artist. Performing alone on stage has given him an opportunity to understand his own musical identity while discovering the kind of artist he wants to become.“It feels like this is just the beginning. Especially since I just released this new album. While going on tour, I feel like I’m learning a lot as a solo artist as well. I feel like there are still so many things I need to learn.”
Rather than viewing his solo debut as a finished achievement, Jacob sees it as the starting point of a much longer journey.
He also hopes to continue creating better music in the future and explore collaborations with other musicians. For Jacob, working with different artists would be an opportunity to gain new perspectives and learn from their creative processes.“I hope I can release better music in the future. If I have the opportunity, I would also like to collaborate with different artists and learn from them, see how they create music, absorb whatever knowledge I can, and apply it to my own music.”
Indonesian Songs and Local Challenges Are Coming
Fans attending the Jakarta showcase have even more reasons to be excited.
Jacob revealed that each stop on his Asia showcase tour has its own special elements tailored to the fans and culture of the country he visits. One of them is a challenge segment, where Jacob takes on popular challenges from the local scene.
For his Jakarta show, he has prepared several challenges that are currently popular in Indonesia.
But that is not all.
Jacob also revealed that he has prepared several Indonesian-language song covers. This could become one of the most anticipated moments of the showcase, especially considering his previous history of singing Indonesian songs for The B.“I’ve prepared several challenges and also several cover songs in Indonesian. So I’m really excited to show them, but I’m also very nervous.”
His Indonesian song covers will give fans the chance to hear Jacob perform songs in a language that is familiar to his audience in Indonesia, making the performance even more personal.
And There Is One More Surprise…
Just when fans thought the Indonesian songs and local challenges were already enough, Jacob hinted that he has another surprise waiting.
However, he is keeping that one under wraps.“There’s something else that I’m going to do tomorrow. But you’ll only know tomorrow. So, wait for the surprise.”
That little spoiler has certainly left The B Indonesia with plenty of questions.
Will it be a special performance? Another unexpected cover? A guest appearance? Or something completely different?
For now, Jacob is keeping his lips sealed.
