Jacob THE BOYZ to Cover an Indonesian Song at His Jakarta Showcase

Jacob of THE BOYZ has another surprise in store for The B Indonesia during his latest visit to Jakarta. During a press conference in Kuningan, Jakarta, on Friday (August 21, 2026), Jacob revealed that he has prepared several surprises for his upcoming solo showcase—including a special cover of an Indonesian song.

And this time, it will be more than just a quick chorus.

Jacob promised to perform the song for a longer duration than his previous Indonesian song covers. Naturally, The B Indonesia are now left wondering: which song will he choose?

The ‘JACOB 1st Asia Showcase: More Than Words Tour 2026 in Jakarta’ will take place on Saturday (August 22, 2026), at STARIUM–CGV Grand Indonesia. The event is part of Jacob’s first Asia showcase tour following his solo debut with his album j. in June 2026.

Jacob Is Ready to Sing More Indonesian Songs

Jacob has previously shown his appreciation for Indonesian music during his visits to Jakarta. However, his performances were usually limited to a short section of a song, particularly the chorus, as he was performing as part of THE BOYZ.

This time, things are different.

As a solo artist, Jacob has more freedom to dedicate time to an Indonesian song and share a longer performance with his fans.“Previously, I only sang the chorus of Indonesian songs because I came here as a group, and I didn’t want to take up too much time. This time, since it’s my own showcase, I thought I could sing an Indonesian song for longer, and I’ve prepared one this time,” Jacob said.

The revelation immediately made fans curious about his song choice. Considering Jacob’s history with Indonesian music, there is certainly plenty of reason for The B to get excited.

Get Ready for a Local Challenge!

The Indonesian song cover is not the only surprise Jacob has prepared.

The Canadian-born idol also revealed that he will take part in a local challenge during the challenge corner at his showcase. Jacob is known for participating in popular challenges from the countries he visits, and Jakarta will be no exception.

This means The B can look forward to seeing a more relaxed and playful side of Jacob outside of his musical performances.“Every time I visit, I always have a challenge corner. I participate in challenges that are popular in that country. So, I’ve prepared a challenge and several surprises,” Jacob explained.

With both a local song cover and a special challenge on the agenda, Jacob’s first solo showcase in Jakarta looks set to be full of unexpected moments.

Jacob Has Covered Indonesian Songs Before

This is certainly not the first time Jacob has surprised Indonesian fans with a local song.

During THE BOYZ’s concert in Jakarta in August 2024, Jacob unexpectedly sang the chorus of “Sialan” by Juicy Luicy and Adrian Khalif. His performance even caught the attention of Juicy Luicy vocalist Julian Kaisar, also known as Uan, who responded in the comments with “Nuhun lur,” meaning “thank you, bro.”

A year later, Jacob returned with another Indonesian song.

During THE BOYZ THE BLAZE WORLD TOUR IN JAKARTA 2025, he performed “Alamak” by Rizky Febian and Adrian Khalif, this time accompanying himself on guitar. Once again, the performance quickly became a fan-favorite moment.

With “Sialan” and “Alamak” already on Jacob’s Indonesian cover list, it is only natural that The B are now trying to predict his next choice.

Will he pick a romantic ballad? A viral hit? Or perhaps a song that no one expects?

One thing is certain: Jacob has prepared something special, and The B Indonesia will soon find out what it is.

So, if you could choose, which Indonesian song would you love to hear Jacob sing next?

Jacob THE BOYZ Is Also Craving Martabak Manis

Music is not the only thing Jacob is looking forward to during his latest trip to Indonesia. The THE BOYZ member also has a local food craving that he hopes to satisfy while he is in Jakarta.

Ahead of his ‘JACOB 1st Asia Showcase: More Than Words Tour 2026 in Jakarta’, Jacob shared some of his experiences trying Indonesian cuisine. Having visited the country several times for THE BOYZ’s group activities, the 1997-born idol has already tasted a number of local dishes.

Among his favorites are nasi goreng and mi goreng, while he has also tried soto ayam and sate ayam.

However, there is one catch: most of these dishes were enjoyed at his hotel.“I tried them at the hotel. Maybe next time I want to try the street food,” Jacob said during the press conference in Kuningan, Jakarta, on Friday (August 21, 2026).

When members of the media suggested that he visit Blok M, Jacob immediately seemed interested.“Blok M? Okay, they [my team] will take me there,” he responded.

Martabak Manis Is at the Top of His Wishlist

Among all the Indonesian dishes Jacob has tried, one particular food seems to have made the biggest impression: martabak.

Jacob recalled trying martabak during his previous visit to Indonesia in 2024—and apparently, he really enjoyed it.“The last time I came, I ate a lot of martabak. I haven’t tried it on this visit yet,” Jacob revealed.

When asked whether he preferred sweet or savory martabak, Jacob did not hesitate.

His answer? Martabak manis.

The idol specifically remembered it as a dessert and expressed his desire to have it again during this trip.“I want martabak manis. I haven’t had it during this visit yet. I want to eat it later,” Jacob said.

With his showcase scheduled for Saturday (August 22, 2026), at CGV Grand Indonesia, Jacob still has a little time to go on his martabak hunt before meeting The B.

So, while fans wait to discover which Indonesian song Jacob will cover, there is another important mission on his Jakarta itinerary: finding the perfect martabak manis.

Hopefully, Jacob gets to enjoy both—an unforgettable showcase and a delicious plate of his favorite Indonesian dessert!
