Vice President of Visinema Pictures, Cristian Imanuell, announced that Keluarga Cemara: The Musical 2025 will showcase new choreography and a more spectacular stage design.“We’ve made sure that this is not just a repetition of last year’s performance, but a deeper and more artistic development,” Cristian said during a press conference held in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Returning during the school holiday season, the musical follows a successful 2024 run that drew in over 30,000 viewers—making it the first theater experience for many families. This strong public enthusiasm is what motivated the team to bring the show back in 2025.
A collaboration between Visinema Studios, Indonesia Kaya, and Ciputra Artpreneur, this year’s production aims to deliver a more immersive and artistic theatrical experience for audiences of all ages.
As the producer, Cristian emphasized his commitment to elevating the show beyond mere repetition.
Significant updates have been made across various elements, including the script, direction, choreography, vocal arrangements, and stage production.“We’ve thoroughly reworked every element of the production to offer a richer, more emotional experience—making it a compelling holiday option for families,” Cristian added.
In the same event, Director Pasha Prakasa expressed hopes that Keluarga Cemara: The Musical 2025 will serve as a catalyst for the growth of Indonesia’s musical theater ecosystem.“Most importantly, we want this to be a high-quality entertainment experience that can be enjoyed by many Indonesian families,” said Pasha.
This year’s show will also feature scene adjustments and enhancements in stage design, including the addition of moving set pieces to provide a fresh and dynamic experience distinct from previous performances.
In addition, music videos for all the songs featured in the musical will be released. Last year, Keluarga Cemara: The Musical earned an AMI Award for Best Musical Album.
The production will star Taufan Purbo, Simhala Avadana, Andrea Miranda, and Galabby, reprising their roles as Abah and Emak. Meanwhile, Amira Karin, Aisyah Fadhila, Fazka Bahanan, and Quinn Salman will return as Euis and Ara.
Keluarga Cemara: The Musical will be performed at Ciputra Artpreneur, Jakarta, from June 20 to July 13, 2025.
