Kim Seon Ho and Go Youn Jung’s love for Indonesia isn’t just seen in their warm greetings to fans—it also shows in their enthusiasm for Indonesian cuisine. During the fan event for the drama Can This Love Be Translated? at The Hall Kasablanka, Jakarta, on Friday, January 16, 2026, the two openly shared their experiences trying local dishes, making fans instantly proud!
Kim Seon Ho stole the spotlight when he confessed his love for satay. The Korean actor even revealed that he ate quite a lot in one sitting.“The first thing I tried was satay. I ate 10 sticks,” said Kim Seon Ho with a smile.
His simple statement was met with cheers from the audience, proud that a local dish had won the heart of a top Korean star.

Equally charming, Go Youn Jung shared her favorite Indonesian snack. The actress, known for her elegant visuals, revealed that she loved cassava chips during her visit to Bali and was also intrigued by food wrapped in banana leaves.“When I went to Bali as a little treat after finishing my drama, I bought a lot of cassava chips. They were so tasty! And there was something wrapped in banana leaves, sticky like that—it was so good,” said Go Youn Jung.
The fan event wasn’t just about food. Kim Seon Ho and Go Youn Jung also introduced their characters in the drama. Kim Seon Ho plays Joo Ho Jin, a genius multilingual translator who is fluent in foreign languages but awkward when it comes to matters of the heart. Go Youn Jung plays Cha Mu Hee, a top actress who appears cheerful but hides a fragile side.
Both stars also shared why they were drawn to the drama. Go Youn Jung described the story as fairytale-like:“When I first read the script, it felt like being in a fairy tale. How could a translator and a global star come together? That’s what fascinated me,” she said.
Kim Seon Ho added:“A multilingual translator paired with a top star—this story is definitely going to be exciting.”
Aside from talking about food, Indonesian fans also suggested that Kim Seon Ho and Go Youn Jung visit Blok M, a legendary Jakarta area known as a culinary paradise.
Kim Seon Ho revealed that he had already tried satay and fried noodles:“I ate satay, 10 sticks. And there was noodle dishes… The fried noodles were really good, I just tried them!”
Meanwhile, Go Youn Jung expressed interest in taking home Indonesian dishes wrapped in banana leaves.
When fans asked where their characters would go on a date in Jakarta, many immediately shouted Blok M! Kim Seon Ho and Go Youn Jung even made an “M” shape with their hands in response.“Tasty, right? Okay, thank you,” said Kim Seon Ho with a smile.
