Jacob of THE BOYZ once again showed his love for Indonesian music during his first solo showcase in Jakarta, and this time, he went all in.
After surprising fans with a duet alongside Indonesian singer Adrian Khalif, Jacob took the stage on his own to perform “Bergema Sampai Selamanya” by Nadhif Basalamah during JACOB 1st Asia Showcase: More Than Words Tour 2026 in Jakarta on Saturday (August 22, 2026) at STARIUM-CGV Grand Indonesia, Jakarta.
Accompanied by the band that regularly performs with Nadhif Basalamah, Jacob delivered the romantic Indonesian song while fans enthusiastically sang along with him.
Jacob Has Been Practicing His Indonesian
Performing an Indonesian-language song is nothing new for Jacob. The Canadian-born idol has previously surprised fans by singing Indonesian songs, and he revealed that he has a simple but dedicated way of preparing for them.
Jacob said he practices by reading the lyrics, working on the pronunciation, and repeatedly listening to the song.“I can learn by reading the lyrics, practicing the pronunciation, and listening to the song as well. I kept practicing, so hopefully I got it right,” Jacob said during the showcase.
Judging by the crowd’s reaction, his hard work certainly paid off.
Fans eagerly joined Jacob in singing along, creating a warm atmosphere throughout the venue. And while the song itself carries sweet and romantic lyrics, there was an even sweeter surprise: Jacob revealed that he had actually been listening to the song long before the showcase.

“It’s on My Playlist”
When asked about the meaning behind the lyrics, Jacob admitted that he did not completely understand them yet.“I don’t really understand the meaning [of the lyrics], but I like the song because it’s so calming. So this song is also on my playlist,” he revealed.
The confession immediately made the performance even more special for fans.
It wasn’t simply a song Jacob had chosen to perform for the Jakarta showcase. He genuinely enjoyed listening to it, making his acoustic performance feel like a personal musical recommendation shared with thousands of fans.
A Surprise Duet with Adrian Khalif
Earlier in the showcase, Jacob had already sent the venue into a frenzy when Indonesian singer Adrian Khalif unexpectedly joined him on stage.
Introducing Adrian, Jacob described him as an Indonesian star whose songs he had discovered thanks to recommendations from Deobis.“An Indonesian star. Deobis often recommend his songs to me,” Jacob said.
For Adrian, the collaboration was just as surreal. He expressed his gratitude to the fans who had introduced his music to Jacob, especially considering that the THE BOYZ member had previously performed his songs “Sialan” and “Alamak.”“Thank you to the fans for recommending my songs to Jacob. A K-pop idol is listening to my songs!” Adrian said.
The feeling was clearly mutual. Adrian revealed that he had also been listening to Jacob’s music.“I also listen to Jacob’s songs when I’m driving in the car. The j. album is really good,” he added.

From “Back and Forth” to “2001x”
The two artists then performed a special two-song collaboration: Jacob’s “Back and Forth” and Adrian Khalif’s “2001x.”
The performance became even more exciting because Jacob didn’t just sing a short portion of the songs—he performed them in full, giving fans a rare opportunity to see him take on the tracks from start to finish.
The chemistry between Jacob and Adrian quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the showcase, with fans enthusiastically singing along throughout the performance.
And apparently, keeping the collaboration secret was one of Jacob’s biggest challenges.“The surprise worked, right? I really wanted to spoil it at the press conference yesterday, but the staff wouldn’t let me. It was so hard to keep the secret,” Jacob admitted.
Judging from the screams that filled STARIUM, the secret was definitely worth keeping.
Between singing Indonesian hits, sharing his personal playlist, and bringing an unexpected Indonesian artist onto the stage, Jacob’s Jakarta showcase proved that his connection with Indonesian fans goes far beyond a typical K-pop event.
For Jacob, it was a chance to share the music he enjoys. For Deobis, it was another unforgettable moment of watching their idol proudly “melokal” in Jakarta.
