Meng Ziyi: Surprised by Indonesian Fans Speaking Mandarin
Chinese actress Meng Ziyi, star of the drama Royal Rumours, expressed her amazement and gratitude for the warm welcome she received at the airport. She was pleasantly surprised by the number of Indonesian fans who greeted her in Mandarin.“We could already feel the fans’ enthusiasm at the airport. I was really surprised that they could speak Mandarin,” she said during the WeTV press conference in Jakarta.
Even more touching, some fans addressed her as “Meng-Jie” (Sister Meng), which she found very sweet and memorable.“I thought they would call me Meng Ziyi or Ziyi, but they called me Meng-Jie. That’s really interesting.”
According to Ziyi, the Indonesian fans’ Mandarin skills and enthusiasm for Chinese dramas reflect their strong interest in Chinese culture.
Her visit was part of her role as WeTV Global Ambassador for the WeTV Always More 2026 event.

Zhou Yiran: Falling for Klepon, Es Cendol, and Learning Indonesian
Handsome actor Zhou Yiran, also a WeTV Global Ambassador, was equally warm. He even greeted fans in Indonesian:“Hello Zhou Yiran fans, I miss you all!”
He continued in his playful style:“Mie goreng mie kuah, I love you muah muah.”
At the fan meeting, Yiran shared stories about the dramas he stars in, including Twelve Letters, and expressed his wish to be a gentle and supportive father in the future.

Tasting Klepon, Satay, and Es Cendol
Yiran’s visit to Indonesia became even more special when he tried several traditional foods. His genuine reactions made the event lively.
Klepon“I like sweet things, especially with the coconut aroma. And it’s not fried, so it’s low in calories. I like it!”
Satay Yiran even ran to fans while sharing satay. “I give it a 10! But it’s a bit cold now, so slightly hard. If it were warm, it would taste better.”
Es Cendol “This is delicious, I give it a 9. The longer I drink it, the better it tastes.”
At the end of the event, Yiran, wearing batik, received a special surprise: a video segment and a birthday cake ahead of his November 22 birthday. He was visibly touched, not expecting the celebration.
The fan meeting concluded with photo sessions, and Yiran even invited fans to take photos with his personal phone.
