myBCA INDONESIA COMIC CON X INDONESIA ANIME CON OFFICIALLY OPENED: A CELEBRATION OF POP CULTURE AND CREATIVITY ACROSS THE WORLD AT JICC SENAYAN

Jakarta, October 25, 2025 – The Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) once again buzzed with the energy of comic, anime, film, game, and music fans as myBCA Indonesia Comic Con x Indonesia Anime Con 2025 officially kicked off. Organized by Panorama Media, this two-day event serves as a cross-world platform where Western and Eastern pop cultures meet on one creative stage under the theme “Pop Culture Crossover Celebration of The Year.”

The event was opened by Andita Tirtawisata, Director of PT Panorama Media; Lulu Anwar, Project Manager of myBCA ICC x INACON 2025; Andhika Permata, Head of Jakarta Tourism Office; and Irene Umar, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia. This collaboration between the government, industry, and creative communities reflects the growing maturity of Indonesia’s pop culture ecosystem, ready to compete on the global stage.

POP CULTURE AS A SPACE FOR GROWTH AND COLLABORATION

In her remarks, Andita Tirtawisata, Director of PT Panorama Media, emphasized the company’s commitment as an exhibition industry player actively supporting Indonesia’s creative economy sector.“We believe that pop culture is not just entertainment—it is an economic driver that creates new opportunities and strengthens cross-sector collaboration. Through myBCA ICC x INACON, we aim to contribute to the growth of Indonesia’s creative economy while providing a platform for young creators to showcase their work both domestically and internationally,” said Andita.

Andhika Permata, Head of the Jakarta Tourism Office, stated that this event reinforces Jakarta’s position as a creative and youth-friendly city.“Jakarta is not only an economic hub but also a space for creativity and innovation to flourish. ICC x INACON brings together diverse communities, introducing Jakarta as a center of urban culture and a pop culture destination in Asia,” he said.

Meanwhile, Irene Umar, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, highlighted that this event is part of the October Creative Festival initiated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to boost the national creative economy’s contribution.“We aim for the creative economy sector to contribute around 8–8.4% to the national GDP by 2029. Exhibitions like this bring together creators, communities, and industries to help local IPs and characters grow globally. Through the October Creative Festival, we want to show that Indonesian creativity is not only culturally rich but also competitive and impactful to the economy,” said Irene.

BRAND AND INDUSTRY SYNERGY: FROM GAMING TO LIFESTYLE

Private sector support is also reflected through digital activations and immersive brand experiences. According to Lulu Anwar, Project Manager of Indonesia Comic Con and Indonesia Anime Con, cross-brand collaboration is essential to provide a holistic visitor experience.“Pop culture now exists in many forms—from games and comics to films and lifestyle brands. From the gaming and tech world, Rexus, AMD, Sony, Lenovo, and Samsung are also joining in to enhance the Gaming Experience Zone at myBCA ICC x INACON.

PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

myBCA ICC x INACON 2025 presents a wide range of exciting programs, including the Raya Cosplay Championship, gaming competitions, exclusive merchandise and collectibles showcases, movie panels, creative workshops, talk shows, and portfolio reviews for young creators.
Professional cosplayers, creators, and comic artists such as Katto (TH), Kameaam (ID), Azulacan (ID), Gerard Jason (ID), Gilbert Jovan (ID), Acky Bright (JP), Sunny Gho (ID – representing AKSI), Bryan Valenza (ID), Sami Basri (ID), Aswin Siregar (ID), along with top creative studios like Leker Meses, Archfriends, and Novarium, are also taking part in the event.

For two days, JICC will be the gathering place for thousands of fans, creators, and communities to celebrate the spirit of “Unleashing Your True Self” through pop culture.
