Promoter Confirms DAY6 Jakarta Concert Still On Amid Ticket Refund Controversy

The upcoming concert of South Korean band DAY6 in Jakarta is facing controversy just days before the event, sparking outrage among fans known as MYDAY. Miscommunication between the promoter Mecimapro and one of the official ticket sellers has caused confusion and disappointment among fans.

The Origin of the Controversy: Seat Numbers Not Yet Sent to Ticket Sellers

The drama began on May 1, 2025, at 3:23 PM WIB, when Mecimapro announced that all seat and queue numbers for purchases made through their official channels had been successfully sent out.

“We have sent all Seat Numbers and Queue Numbers for ticket purchases made via Mecimashop, MCP Member, and Megatix. Please check your email or spam folder,” Mecimapro wrote on their X account @mecimapro.

However, the situation escalated when one of the third-party vendors—also listed as an official ticket seller—sent an email to its customers a few hours later. The email stated that they would issue full refunds (excluding platform fees) for all transactions, using their e-refund system.

“We have decided to take proactive steps for your convenience. We will process a 100% refund (excluding platform fees) for your transaction via the e-refund feature,” the announcement read.

The third-party vendor explained that their decision was due to not having received complete details on seat and queue numbers from Mecimapro.

The refund process was scheduled to run from May 1 to May 4, 2025, through the e-refund system. The vendor also apologized, stating the decision was made to prevent further inconvenience for fans.

Fans who purchased tickets through the third-party seller immediately demanded clarification. Despite this, the ticket seller stuck to their decision and processed refunds. Even if fans didn’t manually request a refund by the deadline, the money would automatically be returned to their digital wallets.

Mecimapro Reaffirms the Concert Will Go Ahead

Amid growing discussions and confusion on social media, Mecimapro released an official statement urging fans to rely solely on their verified social media accounts for information.

“For event-related information, please refer only to our official social media channels,” Mecimapro stated.

They firmly confirmed that the DAY6 FOREVER YOUNG concert would proceed as scheduled at GBK Madya Stadium, Jakarta, on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

“It is confirmed that the concert will go ahead as scheduled. Thank you,” Mecimapro added.

As a solution for fans affected by the third-party refund offer, Mecimapro provided a form for those who wanted to opt out of the refund. This form had to be filled out by Friday, May 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM WIB.

“Seat/Queue Numbers (SN/QN) will be sent by email on the same day, Friday, May 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM WIB,” Mecimapro explained.

They also offered another option for those who had received refunds or did not yet have tickets: to repurchase tickets through Mecimapro’s official channels.

Additionally, Mecimapro will offer on-the-spot ticket sales at the concert venue on May 3, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM at GBK Madya Stadium.

Venue Change Prior to the Event

Previously, the concert had undergone a venue change. On March 21, 2025, Mecimapro announced that the venue would move from Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) to GBK Madya Stadium. The promoter confirmed that all previously purchased tickets would remain valid, and ticketing partners would inform buyers of any updates.

The management of JIS explained that the change was due to a football match between Persija Jakarta and Semen Padang FC, scheduled for April 27, 2025. Mecimapro needed the venue from April 24 to May 2 for preparation.

“Therefore, after discussions with relevant parties, including PT Melania Citra Permata and Persija Jakarta, it was agreed that the concert venue would be changed to accommodate the technical and operational needs of both events without compromising quality,” said the JIS management in an official statement.
