After three years away, Japanese vocal and dance group PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE is back in Indonesia, bringing new music, fresh experiences, and a stronger artistic identity to share with fans. During their visit to Jakarta, the seven-member group opened up about their long-awaited return, their musical growth, and the meaning behind their second album, DIFFERENT.
For the members, returning to Indonesia is more than just another stop on their schedule. It is an opportunity to reconnect with fans who have continued to support them throughout their journey.
Reuniting with Indonesian Fans After Three Years
Kokoro expressed his happiness at finally being able to return to Indonesia after three years away.
“It feels great to be back in Indonesia after not visiting for three years,” Kokoro shared.
The group also looked back on their previous visit in 2023, when they performed at a Japan–Indonesia festival. Ryoga recalled the unforgettable atmosphere, particularly the enthusiasm of the audience.
“Three years ago, we performed at a Japan–Indonesia festival, and I still remember how energetic everyone was. We sang and danced together, and that experience has stayed with me,” Ryoga said.
That shared energy remains a meaningful part of PSYCHIC FEVER’s connection with Indonesian fans, making their latest visit a special moment for the group.
A Packed Schedule in Jakarta
Their return to Jakarta has been filled with activities from the moment they arrived. Having traveled from Thailand to Indonesia, the members immediately began a busy schedule that included collaborations and media visits.
Although their time in the city has been packed, the group is making the most of the opportunity to meet people, share their latest work, and introduce more Indonesian audiences to their music.
Three Years of Growth and New Musical Experiences
Over the past three years, PSYCHIC FEVER has continued to expand its horizons and develop its musical abilities. According to Jimmy, the group has completed three tours across the United States and Japan during this period, gaining valuable experience along the way.
Jimmy also highlighted how much each member has improved, particularly in their individual musical skills and their understanding of R&B and hip-hop.
Through these experiences, the members have continued to refine their performances and explore their musical identities, allowing them to grow both individually and as a group.
Seven Members, Seven Unique Charms
For listeners who are just discovering PSYCHIC FEVER, Ren believes the group’s greatest appeal lies in the individuality of its seven members.
“PSYCHIC FEVER consists of seven members, and each of us has our own unique charm and strengths. Some excel at dancing, some at writing lyrics, while others shine through their vocal abilities,” Ren explained.
Rather than relying on a single defining characteristic, the group brings together different talents and personalities. These differences allow each member to contribute something distinctive while creating a collective identity that sets PSYCHIC FEVER apart.
DIFFERENT: Four Years in the Making
The group’s second album, DIFFERENT, marks an important milestone in their musical journey. Featuring 10 tracks, the album arrives after a four-year period during which the members experienced significant personal and artistic development.
Ryoga expressed his excitement about finally having a new album to share after such a long wait. He explained that the years between releases had brought many changes, particularly in the members’ skills and abilities.
The album reflects not only their musical progress but also the experiences that have shaped them into the artists they are today.
Embracing Individuality Through DIFFERENT
For Jimmy, the title DIFFERENT carries a meaning that goes beyond the music itself. With seven members, each possessing distinct personalities and perspectives, differences have become an essential part of the group’s identity.
Jimmy explained that the members have spent time communicating with one another, learning about each other’s individual characteristics, and discovering what makes each person unique. Those conversations and shared experiences eventually found their way into the album.
As its title suggests, DIFFERENT celebrates individuality while highlighting how different personalities can come together to create something meaningful.
Rather than trying to make everyone the same, PSYCHIC FEVER embraces the qualities that distinguish each member. Their differences become a source of inspiration, helping shape the group’s music and artistic direction.
A New Chapter with Indonesian Fans
PSYCHIC FEVER’s return to Indonesia represents more than a reunion after three years. It also offers a glimpse into how far the group has come, from the memories of performing together with Indonesian audiences in 2023 to the new musical identity they present through DIFFERENT.
With four years of growth reflected in their latest album and seven distinct personalities contributing to their sound, PSYCHIC FEVER continues to explore what makes them unique as artists.
As they reconnect with Indonesian fans, the group brings a clear message through DIFFERENT: individuality is something to celebrate, and meaningful connections can turn those differences into something greater.
