DETECTIVE Chinatown 1900, the latest comedy mystery film from China, is set to entertain Indonesian audiences starting February 19, 2025. This fourth sequel in the popular Detective Chinatown franchise brings legendary Hong Kong star Chow Yun Fat in a captivating role.
Set in San Francisco in 1900, the film follows the journey of Qin Fu (Liu Haoran) and Ah Gui (Wang Baoqiang), two eccentric detectives caught up in the investigation of the murder of a white woman in Chinatown. This case not only shakes the city but also sparks racial tensions, with strong calls to shut down the Chinese community there.
Under the pressure of time and public scrutiny, Qin Fu and Ah Gui must prove their sharp instincts to uncover the mastermind behind the crime. Along the way, they receive help from Bai Xuanling (Chow Yun Fat), a charismatic community leader with many secrets.
Directed by Chen Sicheng and Dai Mo, and produced by Wanda Film, Detective Chinatown 1900 has garnered praise for its thrilling storyline and fresh humor after its premiere in China, the United States, and Singapore in early 2025.
