One of the biggest music festivals in Indonesia, LaLaLa Festival 2024 will soon be held on August 23, 24, and 25, 2024. The event, held at the Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO) Kemayoran, is considered to be a music festival that is different from other music festivals.
Present for the first time in Jakarta, LaLaLa Festival 2024 will provide a different experience for visitors later. Founder of LaLaLa Festival, Carmel Puma said, previously this event was known as a music festival with a forest concept. But this year, LaLaLa Festival 2024 is moving to Jakarta, which has a metropolitan city feel.
“The reason for moving is because the facilities are a bit difficult, so we moved to Jakarta. Even though we moved to Jakarta, we still want the forest concept to remain by combining our forest concept with urban sanctuary. In the past, we didn’t have to bother thinking about the ambience, but now, everything must be carefully thought out so that everyone’s expectations are achieved,” said Puma at the LaLaLa Festival 2024 press conference at Fairmont Hotel, Friday (16/8).
He also admitted that for this festival, his team worked hard from scratch to create stages that were different from previous events. For example, starting to draw stage sketches from scratch and not just renting a building permit. “LaLaLa Festival has its own unique color, like before we were Forest Festival, when we moved to Jakarta we made a lot of experiences ourselves, starting from Stretch, one of which is a water fountain, there are more stages that we have told on Instagram such as the 360-degree stage, we made everything from 0 not just renting a permit. That’s one of the things I can tell you here, that we are different there,” he said.
Even so, Puma argues that this year’s LaLaLa Festival 2024’s flagship stage, the 360-degree stage, can make an artist’s performance very stunning or even fail altogether.
Therefore, he also gave advice to performers who get a 360-degree stage to practice as well as possible. “So if the performers are not well-practiced, it could be a flop. We always talk to artists to be careful if they get to perform on this stage. Then, the stages that we make will be planted with vines, in the center there is a ball, the ball will be shot with a 3D laser so it’s really immersive,” said Puma.
After a 5-year hiatus, LaLaLa Festival 2024 gave a surprise that was quite successful in making music festival fans surprised. The reason is, there are many world-renowned and Indonesian musicians who will perform to entertain the audience. The musicians who will perform include Conan Gray, Tyla, Aurora, Tory Kelly, The Temper Trap, Birdy, Sabrina Claudio, Madison Beer, 10CM, Fuji Blue, Kirinji, Lauren Spencer Smith, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, and others. Indonesian musicians will also enliven this much-anticipated music event. Starting from MALIQ & D’essentials, Goodnight Electric, Isyana Sarasvati, Reality Club, The Adams, Raissa Anggiani, Ardhito Pramono, Nadin Amizah, GAC, and many more.
“For the selection of the artists themselves, we didn’t suddenly invite who is famous now and just ‘take’ it. We started curating who will be performing at this year’s LaLaLa Festival a year ago. Even now, we have started curating for next year,” said Puma. The density of the line-up that will perform in one day is realized as one of the main points. So that in one stage the performers will only be given more than 1 hour to give their best performance to entertain the audience. He hopes that the audience will not miss out on enjoying all the line-ups that are present on that day. Meanwhile, for those of you who don’t have the tickets yet, you can still get the tickets, unfortunately now only the Early Entry ones are priced at Rp1.8 million, Rp2.2 million for the normal category, and Rp3.6 million for the VIP ticket category.
