Jakarta, January 7, 2025 — After receiving a positive response during its premiere at JAFF19, the latest drama film by writer and director Yandy Laurens, 1 Kakak 7 Ponakan (1 Sibling, 7 Nephews), will have special screenings in 7 cities across Indonesia. The film has also been named the “Most Anticipated Film of 2025” at the WatchmenID Awards 2024.
In response to the audience’s enthusiasm, Mandela Pictures and Cerita Films will present a special treat by holding the 1 Kakak 7 Ponakan special screenings in 7 cities. Over the weekend, the film’s cast will join the audience for screenings in these cities.
On January 11, 2025, the film 1 Kakak 7 Ponakan will premiere in Banten (Cilegon XXI), Surabaya (Royal XXI), Makassar (CGV Panakkukang Square), and Bandung (CGV 23 Paskal). Meanwhile, on January 12, 2025, it will be shown in Malang (Malang Town Square Cinepolis), Depok (Margo City), and Bali (Plaza Renon Cinepolis). Tickets for the screenings on January 11 and 12 can be purchased starting January 6, 2025.
1 Kakak 7 Ponakan follows the story of Moko, a young architect striving to achieve his dreams, who suddenly becomes a ‘single parent’ to his nephews after both of his siblings pass away unexpectedly. When an opportunity for a better life arises, Moko must choose between his love life, career, and his nephews.
The film is an adaptation of a story by Arswendo Atmowiloto with the same title. It stars Chicco Kurniawan, Amanda Rawles, Freya JKT48, Fatih Unru, Ahmad Nadif, Kawai Labiba, Ringgo Agus Rahman, Niken Anjani, Kiki Narendra, and Maudy Koesnaedi.
