A Smash Hit in Korea, a Frenzy in Jakarta: Taxi Driver 3 Breaks Records

Jakarta, November 26, 2025 — The return of Korea’s most explosive action-crime series has sent shockwaves across Asia. Taxi Driver 3 launched with a spectacular premiere, earning the highest first-episode rating of any series released in 2025.

According to Nielsen Korea, Episode 1 scored:

  • 9.5% average nationwide rating

  • 2.4% rating among key viewers aged 20–49

  • #1 in its time slot across all TV channels

On Viu, the drama also shot straight to the top, ranking #1 in Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and the Middle East.

A Premiere Night That Electrified Jakarta

The excitement wasn’t limited to Korea. Viu hosted a special watch party at Ice Palace Theater, Lotte Mall Jakarta, attended by hundreds of fans, media, K-pop communities, and influencers. The room erupted the moment Kim Do-gi unveiled his first disguise of the season.“When Kim Do Gi stepped out, everyone screamed. He’s just so cool—there’s something about him that makes you want to follow every move,”

said Nabila Dharmawan, one of the attendees.
“I watched the first two seasons, but watching with a crowd made it five times more exciting.”

The event also marked Viu’s collaboration with Hometown Artisan Dairy, sharing the message that their Greek Style Yogurt is the perfect drama-time snack.

A New Monster of a Season

If the first two seasons were already “rating monsters,” Season 3 comes in with even sharper claws—bigger, bolder, and more ambitious.

Do-gi’s disguises this time are practically theatrical—each one a new persona with its own rhythm, style, and attitude. It feels like Lee Je-hoon is performing several dramas inside one series, which is exactly what makes Taxi Driver 3 so irresistible.

And then… the twist.

Yoon Shi-yoon’s shocking villain transformation

Known for his warm, friendly roles, Yoon Shi-yoon stuns viewers with a chilling, sinister performance that’s so convincing many fans refused to believe it was him.
His cold stare, faint smile devoid of warmth, and quiet yet threatening presence shift the series into a darker, more gripping territory.

Social media erupted the moment he appeared.

Taxi Driver 3: An Evolution, Not Just a Sequel

With record-breaking ratings, Lee Je-hoon’s increasingly daring character work, and Yoon Shi-yoon’s jaw-dropping villain debut, Taxi Driver 3 is rapidly becoming one of the most talked-about dramas of the year.

This season isn’t just a continuation—it’s an evolution.
More cinematic.
More mature.
And more captivating for global audiences.
