Jakarta, 1 December 2025. The five Indonesian stars of ABRACADABRA: The Galaxy of Ultimate Healing reunited with Korean superstar Ji Chang-wook at the gala premiere and fan meeting held last Friday (28/11/2025) at Lotte Shopping Avenue, Kuningan, Jakarta. This five-episode variety series is a collaboration between Viu and Samsung, and premiered exclusively on Viu on the same day.
Although Dikta was absent, the gala premiere was attended by Pevita Pearce, Maxime Bouttier, Vanesha Prescilla, Bryan Domani, and Agung Karmalogy. The five of them brought back special moments from their journey in Bali, Sumba, and Yogyakarta alongside Ji Chang-wook.
In front of hundreds of fans and media, Ji Chang-wook opened the evening with an honest reflection on what “healing” means to him. Calmly, he admitted that his packed work schedule makes him long for moments of rest.
“For me, healing is resting. I’m always working, so my body and mind also need rest,” said the Backstreet Rookie star. But when Viu and Samsung invited him to explore three destinations in Indonesia, Ji Chang-wook felt the project was more than just work.
“Actually, during the filming of Abracadabra, the schedule was extremely tight. The staff must have been exhausted too. But traveling through Indonesia’s beautiful islands and learning about the culture and history genuinely felt like it could be healing,” he added.
Ji Chang-wook shared that during one of the shoots in Bali, he and Bryan Domani had to start preparing at 3 a.m. to catch the sunrise. “The night before, I filmed until midnight. I only rested for two hours before having to get up at 3 a.m. But the moment I saw the sunrise, all the fatigue disappeared. It all melted away. Just from seeing the Sun,” he said with a bright smile.
For Bryan Domani, the experience with Ji Chang-wook in Bali was beyond what he expected. “I knew he had worked the night before and we had to work again at 3 a.m. I was super nervous about working with him. But it turned out Ji Chang-wook was cheerful, curious about many things, and able to enjoy the moment,” Bryan said.
Although he once lived in Bali, Bryan admitted that watching the sunrise in Kintamani was a first for him. “Ji Chang-wook and I sat together on top of a jeep, drinking tea and eating pastries while chatting. It was beautiful. For a moment, I forgot we were filming,” he said.
Vanesha Prescilla Was Nervous in Sumba
“To be honest, I was really nervous at first. I met Ji Chang-wook for the first time in Sumba, while the other cast members had already begun filming,” said Vanesha Prescilla at the same event. But her doubts quickly faded thanks to the support of the crew and Ji Chang-wook.
“The whole team was very supportive and guided me well. When I met Ji Chang-wook, he was super humble and friendly. We filmed around noon and he was cheerful, so I became cheerful too. The atmosphere instantly became warm,” she said.
Sharing Vanesha’s sentiment, Maxime Bouttier also admitted he was nervous at first. But like the others, Ji Chang-wook’s smile and warmth dissolved all awkwardness. “I was a bit nervous at first. But once we started talking, everything flowed. He’s really fun, welcoming, and excited. So it was easy for me to get comfortable. The filming was super fun. If there could be a second season, I would love that!”
