The Korean romantic comedy series Can This Love Be Translated? will premiere on January 16, 2026. The trailer video released today invites viewers to join a “romantic journey” with Joo Ho-jin and Cha Mu-hee—a journey filled with breathtaking stopovers that bring them closer together, even as they sometimes struggle to understand one another.
The trailer offers a deeper look into the story of Ho-jin (Kim Seon-ho), a calm-natured multilingual interpreter, and Mu-hee (Go Youn-jung), a global celebrity determined to meet Ho-jin. Together, they travel through various picturesque locations as their cross-border romance unfolds across Korea, Japan, Canada, and Italy.
At times they accept each other; at other moments, they face obstacles. Ho-jin can effortlessly translate many languages, yet finds it most difficult to read Mu-hee’s heart. Meanwhile, Mu-hee, though loved by fans all over the world, struggles to express her own love.
Against postcard-perfect travel scenery, the trailer highlights what lies beneath: the pauses before confessions, smiles that cannot fully hide doubt, and gestures that signal care—things that mean more than words. There is also a brief glimpse of Do Ra-mi, a character who leads Mu-hee to the peak of global stardom.
The main poster shows Ho-jin and Mu-hee in Italy, with the word “love” written in various languages between them—yet among them all, the one language they most want to understand is each other’s.
Starring Kim Seon-ho (When Life Gives You Tangerines, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Start-Up) and Go Youn-jung (Resident Playbook, Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow, Sweet Home), the series is written by the Hong Sisters—Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran (Alchemy of Souls, Hotel Del Luna, The Master’s Sun)—and directed by Yoo Young-eun (Bloody Heart), known for elegant visuals and emotionally rich storytelling.
