Jakarta, May 30, 2025 — Official! The animated film JUMBO by Visinema Studios, directed by Ryan Adriandhy and produced by Anggia Kharisma and Novia Puspa Sari, is now Indonesia’s highest-grossing film of all time. In just 60 days in theaters nationwide, JUMBO broke the record previously held by KKN di Desa Penari (2022), which drew over 10 million viewers in more than 90 days.
JUMBO also became only the second Indonesian film to surpass 10 million viewers, alongside KKN di Desa Penari. This achievement marks a sweet milestone for Indonesia’s animation industry, which has long struggled to capture audiences’ hearts.
The film has accompanied many Indonesian families from Eid al-Fitr to Eid al-Adha, setting records as Southeast Asia’s highest-grossing animation, surpassing Hollywood animated films screened in Indonesia during four major holiday seasons.
JUMBO’s success opens wide opportunities for creators, investors, and producers to gain greater confidence in Indonesian animation projects.
“The achievement of JUMBO wouldn’t have been possible without the genuine support from Indonesian audiences and families. Visinema Studios believes that good work will find its place and become a core memory for the younger generation and children today. We hope our work will create a positive impact and help the Indonesian animation industry grow,” said Visinema Studios CEO Herry B. Salim.
“A blessing we are very grateful for. It is thanks to prayers, hard work, and the faith of the creators, viewers, and Indonesian families who feel they own JUMBO. We are happy to make history with many people who feel connected to this work. We hope JUMBO will live on in your hearts,” added JUMBO writer and director Ryan Adriandhy.
