MVP Pictures Horror Film by Randolph Zaini, A Woman Called Mother, Selected for Fantastic Fest 2025 Coming to Indonesian theaters on September 25, 2025

Jakarta, August 15, 2025 — Exciting news from the United States! The latest horror film from MVP Pictures, directed by Randolph Zaini, titled A Woman Called Mother (original title: Dia Bukan Ibu), has officially been selected for Fantastic Fest 2025. Fantastic Fest is the largest genre film festival in the U.S., taking place from September 18 to 25 at The Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar in Austin, Texas. The festival showcases genre films such as horror, fantasy, sci-fi, action, and other fantastic cinema.

In its 20th edition, A Woman Called Mother will be one of 45 world premieres, selected out of 78 films that will screen throughout the festival.

The film has been included in the Next Wave Competition program and will compete with six other titles from around the world. The competition jury features prominent names in the film and entertainment industry, including actor Patton Oswalt, director and musician Fred Durst, author Ottessa Moshfegh, directors Aaron Schimberg and Mercedes Bryce Morgan, and producer Brandon Hill.“We believe this film’s story holds universal appeal for a global audience, wrapped in the horror genre which has become a shared language for how we enjoy cinema today. About the Film

A Woman Called Mother follows the story of Vira and her family, who move to a small town hoping to start over after enduring difficult times. However, a dark force begins to haunt the family, forcing them to confront their deepest fears.

The film is inspired by a viral Twitter/X thread by user @jeropoint, with the screenplay co-written by Randolph Zaini and Titien Wattimena. It is produced by Raam Punjabi and Amrit Punjabi, and stars Artika Sari Devi, Aurora Ribero, Ali Fikry, Kivano Iskak, and Sita Nursanti.
