Vision+ and Viu have teamed up to present a new original series titled Sugar Daddy, starring Darius Sinathrya and Megan Domani. The first episode officially premiered on Friday, May 2, 2025.
Thaleb Wirachman Wahjudi, Head of Production at Vision+, expressed his pride in this collaboration with Viu. He believes Sugar Daddy will be an exciting offering for drama series fans in Indonesia.”Viu and Vision+ are both OTT platforms, but we each have our strengths and different target markets. Ours leans more towards sports and male audiences, while Viu’s audience is more female,” said Thaleb at a press conference in Sudirman, Central Jakarta, on Friday.”We’re very proud of the entire cast and thrilled with the result. We hope all 15 episodes will entertain and be well-received by the public,” he added.
Thaleb is optimistic that Sugar Daddy will engage viewers with a unique comedic drama perspective. However, he acknowledges that the title itself posed an early challenge.”The main challenge with Sugar Daddy is that it deals with a very real phenomenon in society, and the title has a naturally negative connotation. But from the start, Vision+, Viu, and the production house Unlimited have been committed to presenting this series as entertainment with a meaningful moral message,” he explained.
Strategic Partnership Through Combo Mevvah
This collaboration is also supported by a bundled subscription service called Combo Mevvah, which makes it easier for audiences to access premium content from both OTT platforms.”Last year, we created a Combo Mevvah package that merges both OTT platforms. The synergy has worked really well, and we aim to deliver the best to our respective markets,” Thaleb stated.”We believe Sugar Daddy adds great value to the Combo Mevvah package,” he concluded.
Story Overview
