The horror film industry is once again bringing fresh innovation through Don’t Follow Me, a project by Blumhouse Productions, a studio well known for producing gripping and terrifying films. Notably, this marks their first original Spanish-language film, originally titled No Me Sigas. The film was introduced at CCXP Mexico as part of Blumhouse’s 15th anniversary celebration, instantly capturing the attention of horror fans worldwide.
A Viral Obsession That Turns Deadly
The story centers on Carla (Karla Coronado), a young influencer obsessed with gaining popularity on social media. In an effort to boost her follower count, she creates paranormal-themed content and decides to stay in an old apartment rumored to be haunted.
At first, everything is staged. Carla simply wants to create viral content. However, things take a terrifying turn when she unknowingly summons a real malevolent entity.
The tension escalates when Carla becomes possessed during a live stream. In that moment, viewers can no longer distinguish between what is real and what is merely staged content.
A Friendship on the Brink
Beyond its supernatural horror, the film also explores emotional depth through Carla’s relationship with her best friend, Sam (Julia Maqueo). Sam becomes increasingly disturbed by Carla’s growing obsession with fame. Their conflict adds another layer to the story, highlighting the struggle between ambition and humanity.

In Indonesia, Don’t Follow Me is scheduled to hit theaters on April 8, 2026. Meanwhile, in its home country, the film will be released through the Cinépolis network.
