On Saturday, February 15, 2025, K-pop boy band NCT 127 kicked off their concert Neo City: Jakarta – The Momentum with vibrant energy. The NCT members expressed their longing for their fans, NCTzen. Here are the key moments from the first day of the concert:
NCT 127 Expresses Longing for NCTzen
The concert, promoted by Dyandra Global Edutainment, began at 7:00 PM WIB. Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan took the stage dressed in all-black outfits. NCT 127’s stellar performance was complemented by spectacular lighting and fireworks, adding to the festive atmosphere of the night. Interactions between the members and the fans made the concert feel even more personal.
Jungwoo said, “Make some noise! It’s been so long since we met in Jakarta. Since it’s been a while, we’re going to make sure to make you all happy.” Mark also expressed how much they missed their fans, saying, “Do you guys miss us? We miss you a lot too. Let’s have fun until the end, and of course, stay safe.”
The six members took turns greeting the audience, and the concert, lasting around 2.5 hours, was filled with energy. The first song performed was Gas, followed by Faster, Bring The Noize, and 2 Baddies, igniting the crowd’s excitement at the Indonesia Arena, Senayan. After a quick costume change, they performed Skyscraper and Chain, with thousands of fans singing along while waving their NCT lightsticks, known as Neo-bong.
High-Energy and Passionate Performance
From the start, NCT 127’s members exhibited tremendous energy, creating an electrifying atmosphere in the stadium. The concert opened with an exclusive video showing the members of NCT 127, building excitement and anticipation among the fans. The performance began with a cinematic sequence of the members engaged in SWAT-like action, followed by them emerging on stage with Faster, which lit up the audience.
Dressed in black, the six members—Doyoung, Jungwoo, Mark, Johnny, Yuta, and Haechan—gave off a charismatic vibe as they took the stage. The venue was filled with the neon green glow of their official lightsticks, “NCT Lightstick”, which blinked in time with the music. Fans passionately sang along and cheered with fanchants, creating an incredible concert atmosphere.
They followed up with energetic tracks like Faster, Bring The Noize, 2 Baddies, Skyscraper, and Chain (Korean version). The members impressed the audience with their powerful choreography and seamless vocal harmonies. Notably, Doyoung interacted with the audience, greeting them in Indonesian, which was met with enthusiastic cheers.
“Hello, how are you? I’m Doyoung,” he said with a cute accent, bringing the crowd to a frenzy of applause and screams.
A Spectacular Stage Experience
The NCT 127 4th Tour NEO CITY: Jakarta – THE MOMENTUM successfully delivered a night filled with high energy, stunning visuals, and heartfelt interactions between the members and the fans. The concert proved that NCT 127 continues to be one of the K-pop groups capable of creating incredible stage experiences and building emotional connections with fans worldwide.
Unique VCR Concept for Each Song Transition
One of the most interesting aspects of the concert was the use of a VCR (video clip) for each song transition. The video featured the members portraying different characters and narratives, adding an artistic visual touch before each new song. The fans were thrilled with the unique presentation, and the members’ appearances in the videos generated even more excitement.
NCT 127 performed about 26 songs, including classic hits like Kick It, 2 Baddies, and Fact Check, along with tracks from their latest album Walk released in 2024. They also performed ballads like Meaning of Love and Time Capsule. Fans were particularly touched by videos showing members Taeyong and Jaehyun, who are currently in mandatory military service.
During the concert, the members expressed their gratitude to their fans for their continuous support and eagerly anticipated their next concert in Indonesia.
Indonesian Food Mentioned as One of the Best
Mark from NCT 127 praised Indonesian food during the concert. He said, “Haechan recommended a lot of Indonesian food, and it’s one of the best,” which sparked loud cheers from the fans.
The members also expressed their longing for Indonesian fans. Jungwoo shared, “It’s been a while since we met. I hope you’re all happy. More importantly, let’s prioritize our safety.” Doyoung, Haechan, Johnny, and Yuta reminded fans to stay safe and take care during the concert.
Johnny commented on the incredible energy from the audience right from the first song, saying, “Let’s enjoy together, this concert is going to be full of dancing and action, so if you feel tired, just let us know.”
Closing with Promise You
The concert ended with the song Promise You, a slower track that perfectly served as a heartfelt farewell to the fans. The audience sang along passionately, making it a sweet, emotional moment to close the show.
The evening concluded with a group photo featuring the members holding pink heart-shaped signs, marking a memorable end to the concert.
NCT 127’s Neo City: Jakarta – The Momentum will continue on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 3:00 PM WIB at the Indonesia Arena, Senayan. This is the second stop of their world tour, following their opening concert in Seoul, South Korea, on January 18-19.
This isn’t NCT 127’s first concert in Jakarta; they also performed in January 2024 with the Neo City: The Unity concert. After Jakarta, they will continue their tour across various cities in Asia and North America, including Bangkok, Duluth, Newark, Toronto, Rosemont, San Antonio, Los Angeles, Osaka, Taipei, Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Macau.
