Yogyakarta-born idol LOUDI finally greeted fans in Indonesia at the OBSESSION Release Event on Saturday (November 2, 2024). LOUVERS, LOUDI’s fandom name, gathered in South Jakarta to have fun with their idol.
LOUDI prepared many performances and activities with his fans in Jakarta. Although he had previously come to Indonesia for a festival and a duet with ONLEE during his solo concert, LOUDI finally had the opportunity to meet fans in Jakarta through this OBSESSION Release Event, which was held due to frequent requests for him to come to Indonesia. Despite heavy rain pouring in Jakarta on Saturday afternoon, the enthusiasm of the fans remained high, leaving LOUDI touched.
At the OBSESSION Release Event, LOUDI not only performed his songs but also did a cover of “Fly Me to the Moon,” which got the audience singing along.
During the event, it was revealed that after performing, LOUDI wrote a profile with his fans, and it came to light that his family nickname is Wawat. Most importantly, LOUDI also prepared special gifts for a quiz, buying them with his own money. Additionally, LOUDI fulfilled fan requests by teaching them the dance moves for OBSESSION so they could join in on the challenge. After singing together to “Get A Guitar,” LOUDI read a letter he wrote to the fans while holding back tears of emotion.
LOUDI also sang the hit song “Sialan” by Juicy Luicy, which had the fans feeling nostalgic together. The event continued with a fan signing session.
Not only did LOUDI create sing-alongs and challenges, but he also shared the challenges he faced during the making of OBSESSION. LOUDI collaborated with composer 16 to create “OBSESSION.” However, the recording process took a long time to ensure the best quality for his fans. “I worked alone; yes, there was a collaboration with 16, but the lengthy part was that 16 had never made a song like this before. He usually makes slow songs, so when combined with me, there ended up being 17 files from start to finish,” LOUDI explained during the OBSESSION Release Event in Jakarta. “The file names were Try 1, Try 2, fix this, fix 1, fix 2, fix 3, and finally the last one. So, the process was really long.”
LOUDI also recounted the process of making the music video for “OBSESSION.” It wasn’t as easy as it looked; the Sleman-born idol had to deal with insects and run in the dark near the Han River. “When I was running at the Han River, at 2 or 3 in the morning, I had a flashlight for lighting. The big lighting attracted all sorts of insects from the river. I think during this MV shoot, I must have eaten a lot of mosquitoes,” LOUDI laughed while sharing.
He continued, “If you see me running, I don’t know what’s in front of me, so I just relied on my instincts.”
The challenges LOUDI faced didn’t stop there. Initially, there were no plans for him to perform on a music show, so he hadn’t prepared any choreography. Suddenly, LOUDI received an offer to perform on stage from a music show producer who had known him since his time in the group 14U. LOUDI shared, “At that time, they were looking for choreographers for the song, and they only had 6 hours to create choreography from start to finish to be recorded and sent to the music show, while I had only 9 hours to practice.”
His hard work paid off, and LOUDI was able to perform “OBSESSION” in front of his Indonesian fans. Furthermore, LOUDI revealed that he is currently preparing a new song.
So, how was the event this afternoon? It was super exciting and full of memories, wasn’t it?
